Recurring enemies[edit]

These enemies can be encountered in two or more stages.

Scworm Pipi

Stages: Air Man, Quick Man, Heat Man
Description: They protrude from the iron pipes on the ground. You either need a low-hitting weapon, or the pipes will self-destruct eventually.

Stages: Air Man, Crash Man, Wood Man
Description: They fly in a straight direction, dropping an egg that contains Ko-Pipis. Destroying them with a Metal Blade in an upward direction will destroy Pipis and the eggs altogether, but a single shot at the eggs before they break on impact will prevent Pipis from attacking you.
Returning Sniper Joe Sniper Armor

Stages: Quick Man, Flash Man, Heat Man
Description: An updated version of Sniper Joe. They shoot three bullets in a row in a straight direction. You can only shoot them when they're shooting.

Description: These jumping machines will crush you, so you must run away from them. Destroying them will release Sniper Joe off the machines.
Telly Blocky

Stages: Crash Man, Heat Man
Description: They follow you, knocking you off the platforms. Use the Leaf Shield to keep you safe.

Stages: Metal Man, Crash Man, Flash Man
Description: A stack of four blocks with Telly as the second one. You only must shoot them in their eyes. They knock off the blocks, causing their heads to fall, and call for the next three blocks in Difficult mode. They are destroyed altogether in Normal mode.
Shotman Fly Boy

Also known as: Crazy Cannon
Description: They stand still, shooting bullets in a downward arc.

Description: They come down from the upper part of the screen. They levitate up slowly, pouncing on you swiftly and repeat.
Springer

Description: They move faster when you are near them. They cannot be destroyed by Mega Buster.

Stage-specific enemies[edit]

These enemies can be encountered in only one stage. Still, some of them can be encountered again in Dr. Wily's fortress.

Description: These drill-like enemies appear from floors and ceilings.

Description: They ride on a large gear. If you destroy the top part, the gear will still remain, but if you destroy the gear, the clown will be destroyed, too.

Also known as: Lightning Lord
Description: They ride on clouds traveling in circular directions, tossing lightning bolts in a downward arc. Shoot them to get on the clouds.

Also known as: Fan Fiend
Description: They use their fans to blow you away over the edge, so you must destroy them while walking towards them.
Petit Goblin Shrink

Also known as: Gremlin
Description: They appear when you are standing on Goblins. They follow you whenever you go. "Petit" is French for "little".

Description: Protruded by Anko's mouth, they attack you by swimming in your direction.
Kerog Tanishi

Description: They spit out three miniature version of Kerogs which they land on you.

Description: A shot at them will lose their shells in the Difficult mode, making them move faster. After that, use a low hitting weapon to destroy them.

Description: They come down slowly, but once they level with you, they fly towards you in a wave pattern.

Description: They toss Changkeys in a downward arc from their heads.

Description: An upgraded version of Metalls with feet. They fire in three directions, and run towards you. You can shoot them when they expose their eyes.

Also known as: Bubble Bat
Description: They usually hang from the ceilings with their wings closed. When they get off the ceilings, they attack you in your direction. You can shoot them when they expose their faces.

Description: They hop and shoot carrot missiles at different directions.
Monking Cook

Description: They jump up from the bottom of the screen, grabbing onto the platform, and leaping on the platform, pouncing you.

Description: They run at rapid speed, jumping over you.
Big Fish

Description: They jump out from the bottomless pit. Only the Quick Boomerang or the Crash Bomb will destroy them.

Sub-bosses[edit]

There is no way to dodge these enemies: the only way to pass is to defeat them.

Description: They produce Shrinks from their mouths. Their antennas are their only weak spots.

Description: They stand still, breathing fire in an upward arc.

Undestructible obstacles[edit]

There is no way to defeat these enemies: the only way is to get past them and avoid their attacks.

Description: They protrude horns and release Petit Goblins from their ears.
