I have proof that I and the original User:Namcorules are the same account[edit]

I'm the one who asked how to get the crosshairs on Steel Gunner and Steel Gunner 2 to move! Didn't you see what I said at the end of my question about the eleventh round of Mirai Ninja? I'm also still very angry with User:Rocky for renaming all of my Phelios images - it is at least a decade older than the Sony PlayStation! If you want to email a new password to me so I can get my old account back, my email address is "Stud3538@hereward.ac.uk". Namcorules's New Account 03:30, 9 January 2008 (CST)

mmk, I'll get on that then (although if you know your old user id, that would be very helpful!). An email will be sent to you when your password is reset. --Skizzerz_Scissors.png Safety Skizzerz {{ Talk | Contribs | Spel Chek™ | VFG | RTFM }} 15:30, 9 January 2008 (CST)

Urgent: We need account creation captchas[edit]

...or whatever those things are called. We're getting autogenerated accounts now. Implement it ASAP, we'll deal with the community reaction later.

We need someone with filesystem access first. It requires an extension. --Skizzerz_Scissors.png Safety Skizzerz {{ Talk | Contribs | Spel Chek™ | VFG | RTFM }} 16:12, 11 January 2008 (CST)
Crap... well, block any user with the pattern of ten characters long, with characters one and six as capital letters on sight. Procyon (Talk) 16:18, 11 January 2008 (CST)
I temporarily hid the buttons used to create accounts via CSS, so hopefully the bots won't be able to continue using it. --Skizzerz_Scissors.png Safety Skizzerz {{ Talk | Contribs | Spel Chek™ | VFG | RTFM }} 16:23, 11 January 2008 (CST)
One more just made it on :P Matt is trying to figure out the password for the SW file system. Procyon (Talk) 16:25, 11 January 2008 (CST)
Actually, I can't sign on from work, it's blocked. (Sorry for the random insert here, didn't feel like starting a new topic.) I'll be able to get on when I get home in an hour or so. Procyon (Talk) 16:49, 7 February 2008 (CST)

{{pcreq}} needs a modification that I couldn't get to work: simply that when the win parameter isn't given, it should display as Windows 95 (you'll see my failure in the template currently). Thanks in advance, --Notmyhandle (talk contribs) 16:14, 11 January 2008 (CST)

Sure sure. I have to take off right now, but when I get back. --Notmyhandle (talk contribs) 16:20, 11 January 2008 (CST)
Note that I reverted the change, because the minimum versions of everything are assumed — the |win parameter should be no different. Besides, having it always present clutters up the template when we want to keep it as small as possible. --DrBob (talk) 20:25, 11 January 2008 (CST)
I added it back in just for the sake of people that don't know that they shouldn't include it, but it isn't default like Notmyhandle did. If you still don't like it, just revert it yet again and that'll be the end of that. --Skizzerz_Scissors.png Safety Skizzerz {{ Talk | Contribs | Spel Chek™ | VFG | RTFM }} 11:23, 12 January 2008 (CST)

Sims2Guy[edit]

Don't be so harsh to Sims2Guy. He's one of our big contributors, and I'm sure he'll cooperate about footer navs. There's no need to threaten him with consequences. --DrBob (talk) 20:22, 11 January 2008 (CST)

I'll keep that in mind. Just be thankful I didn't go all over him like I did with Myth. --Skizzerz_Scissors.png Safety Skizzerz {{ Talk | Contribs | Spel Chek™ | VFG | RTFM }} 20:40, 11 January 2008 (CST)

Your Sig[edit]

How did you make it so that there's easy access to your talk page and all that? I want it for my sig. =P --Arrow Windwhistler 11:07, 12 January 2008 (CST)

Master of Orion[edit]

Two things:

  • It's polite to sign messages so that the recipient can reply easily.
  • As far I could see you'd deleted the pages I'd written. I was just about to go ballistic but dinner was ready. When I came back I found that User talk:Notmyhandle had re-assembled it under "getting started". Your actions have left a real bad taste, and make you look like the kind of person who wants things done his way or not at all. If there's something you don't like but it's not obvious vandalism, discuss it before reaching for the delete button. The structure I was producing still had a few rough edges, but there were good reasons for it. Philcha 14:56, 12 January 2008 (CST)
An action-adventure guide (the current FA, which you suggested I check out) is not a suitable template for a TBS guide. I also checked out Category:Guides at completion stage 4 as you recommended - and it contains no TBS or RTS that I noticed. RTS is not just reflexes and short-term tactics, and TBS has no scope for reflexes and only a little for short-term tactics. You need some new ideas about structure in order to cover TBS and RTS well. Philcha 15:42, 12 January 2008 (CST)

user Sandbox?[edit]

I'm wondering, is it possible for all users to get their own sandbox, or only admins can get them? Just curious. Peace out, God Bless. Halosonic 13:01, 20 January 2008 (CST)

Is there a reason you deleted my Assassin's Creed Flag Locations Page?[edit]

That link goes to the best interactive map I could hope to find. It was an excellent site and very helpful to me in writing my guide. It would be nice if you had taken the time to look and see that I am the writer responsible for the entire existing Assassin's Creed guide before deleting one of my pages as spam. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Quasipolymath (talkcontribs) .

Upload the map here and emulate the interactivity, using <imagemap> if need be. The point is I will delete all pages that constitute of external links, no matter WHO makes them. --Skizzerz_Scissors.png Safety Skizzerz {{ Talk | Contribs | Spel Chek™ | VFG | RTFM }} 16:40, 7 February 2008 (CST)

StrategyWiki:Guide[edit]

Of the appendices, I can only see a connection between the RFA and the Admin guides. If this is so, perhaps we should create an "administration" or applicable header to separate them, because currently it looks very messy and only like 2 out of the 8 are vaguely apparent to have any connection (not to mention the red linked item, what content was planned for Usage Policy? User rights?). --Notmyhandle (talk contribs) 23:21, 8 February 2008 (CST)

The first four ("Sidebars", "Other ways to contribute", "Usage Policy", and "Wiki Etiquette") are loosely connected in the fact that they are geared towards the contributors of the wiki. The next two ("RFA procedure" and "admin guide") are geared towards current admins or those that want to become admins. The final two ("Partnerships" and "about") are geared towards the running of StrategyWiki and the legal aspect of it.
For usage policy, I'm thinking that it's going to be like a Terms of Use. --Skizzerz_Scissors.png Safety Skizzerz {{ Talk | Contribs | Spel Chek™ | VFG | RTFM }} 11:13, 9 February 2008 (CST)
Which section includes scope? That's an important thing to begin with for a lot of new contributors.--DukeRuckleyTalk | Contribs 12:06, 9 February 2008 (CST)
Scope is under the "Policies" section (and actually, usage policy should be under there too, I guess). Meh, that whole third column needs a complete re-arranging. --Skizzerz_Scissors.png Safety Skizzerz {{ Talk | Contribs | Spel Chek™ | VFG | RTFM }} 12:18, 9 February 2008 (CST)
I must be blind... Believe it or not, but I did actually look before I asked that question.--DukeRuckleyTalk | Contribs 12:36, 9 February 2008 (CST)
Ahaha I'm glad I'm not the only one who thinks we need change. Perhaps scope and "About StrategyWiki" should be placed in a section called "StrategyWiki" ??? --Notmyhandle (talk contribs) 18:52, 9 February 2008 (CST)

Thanks for that.[edit]

Thanks for telling me about that. I'm guessing you're the guy who deleted that page? Anyway, thanks. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by GaleZephule (talkcontribs) .

Thanks Again+[edit]

Thanks for giving that back.

However, I have a matter of a more serious nature that greatly involves your help. I nominated the Pokemon Mystery Dungeon 2 guide we've worked on for the Monthly Best Guide or something like that, and I would like it if you could either;

1) Support it by going to the page and supporting the Nomination. 2) Helping on creating more information on PMD2 so more people support it.

Please! I need your help on this! All the editors have worked hard in the past few days to make this walkthrough, and we should be known for this. Also, did you know that besides pokemon.marriland.com we are the only ones that have written a walkthrough for this game, and so far ours is the best! Please help out the Cause!

...I know I could've chosen a better word than "cause". Lol. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by GaleZephule (talkcontribs) .

Sorry, but it really isn't up to the point where it can be "promising" yet. Also, learn how to sign your posts and don't open paragraphs with spaces. --Skizzerz_Scissors.png Safety Skizzerz {{ Talk | Contribs | Spel Chek™ | VFG | RTFM }} 18:55, 10 February 2008 (CST)

Thanks re: Puzzle Quest Template[edit]

Thanks for fixing the template, I hadn't realized the trouble it would cause when I put the break between those tags, and it probably would've taken me forever to figure it out. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Vizeroth (talkcontribs) .

Yeah, anyway, what you did (moving to a new column) looks good :). Also, feel free to import and clean it up, I think it'd be a good policy/guideline to have here officially. --Skizzerz_Scissors.png Safety Skizzerz {{ Talk | Contribs | Spel Chek™ | VFG | RTFM }} 15:23, 29 February 2008 (CST)
