Storage structures are important as production structures can only store a small number of materials. Having storage structures can help maintain production and provide a buffer in the event of shortage (especially useful for food, as plants will rot in the winter).

Warehouse[edit]

Warehouses are where all items can be stored. Warehouses can be set to accept only certain items, using the icon at the top right. Note that storage capacity is in terms of weight, not quantity. Item weight can be found by hovering over an item in the inventory.

If a warehouse is dismantled by the player, its items will remain on the ground and its inventory retrieved. If it is destroyed by a natural disaster such as fire, then its inventory is lost.

Logistics[edit]

Logistics buildings act as way stations for your supplies, and can help coordinate your supply flow.

At the crux of this category is the marketplace, which acts as local storage for surrounding houses. Citizens assigned to the marketplace will move items from surrounding warehouses to the marketplace, which will then flow to the houses surrounding the area.

The transfer station is a building which collects materials from nearby production buildings. Workers assigned to the transfer station will then take the supplies from the transfer station and move them to the nearest stockpile that is outside the transfer station's radius, allowing the workers of the other production buildings to continue working and not spend time shipping supplies.

Stores supplies. Transfer station workers will transport stored goods to out of range warehouses.

Tech reqStorage > Transfer Station > Delivery Station

In many respects the opposite of the delivery station, the delivery station is a building which contains item requests. The item requests will be filled by workers assigned to the delivery station, which will then have those supplies be moved to production buildings within range.

Delivery stations also try to maintain the item count you give them, which is not counted towards your total item count. Delivery stations thus benefit processing facilities, whose workers will spend more time processing materials and less time delivering their own goods.

Workers will collect designated goods from storage structures and deliver required raw and processed materials to the production buildings within range that are contained within the delivery station.
