Quick-save the game just before you trigger the self-destruct sequence. Once it has started and you hear the countdown voice, run to the Big Gun exit as fast as you can. The explosion is not survivable, regardless of your health level and armor strength. The final run is difficult to accomplish, even if you know the exact route to take.
