Here I'll talk about the equipment types you may found around the levels on Diablo. Something really nice to say is that the item value is shown by its color name.

White Text: normal items.

Blue Text: magical items, guaranting you magical bonuses that can be good or bad.

Golden Text: unique items, guaranting you way more magical bonuses and unique bonuses.

The equipment types on Diablo are divided on seven types: swords, bats, axes, staves, bows, armoury and others.

Swords: there's a great variety of weapons on this equipment type, from one-handed to two-handed that may guarantee great damages. They can be: shorts, scimitars, falchions, sabres, longs, greats, daggers, claymores, broads, blades, bastards and two-handed swords.

Bats: not a great variety and they are not that strong aswell. Both one-handed and two-handed. They can be: clubs, flails, maces, mauls, morning stars, spiked clubs and war hammers.

Axes: the strongest warrior weapon surely! They are only two-handed and are very destructable. They can be: axes, battle axes, broad axes, greats, larges and smalls (uuh that you wasn't expecting huh?).

Staves: basically that. They are not made for melee-fighting and are specially for sorcerers. They are only two-handed and can be: composites, longs, quarters, shorts and war staves (don't believe the "war" stuff is for fighting, it still sucks!).

Bows: long-range weapons made specially for rogues. They are only two-handed and don't need ammo for using (since Diablo don't have an ammo system). They can be: composites, hunters, long battles, longs, long wars, short battles, shorts and short wars.

Armoury: there is a great amount of items on this division, so I'll not mention every kind of it, I'll just pass over. They can be: helms, shields and armours. Something really nice to say is that they can change your characters appearence depending on their level (I'm talking about armours). They can be level 1 (basically leather), level 2 (chain, ringed and pretty much it) and level 3 (plates, mails and heavy stuff).

Others: this "others" thing is much like those wearless items like potions, spellbooks, scrolls, etc.
