Here are the equipment types in Diablo. The item value is shown by the color of its name:

  • White Text: These are the most common pieces of equipment, with no special properties.
  • Blue Text: These are equipment with magical properties. They are rarer to find or very expensive. They can have at most two magical properties. Their magical properties take effect only after they have been identified by Cain or with a Scroll of Identify.
  • Gold Text: These pieces of equipment are one of a kind and very valuable. They cannot be purchased, you can only get them by defeating a boss or completing a side quest. They can also have more than two magical properties. However, they too must be identified for their magical powers to take effect.
