Revision as of 00:07, 12 October 2023

Weapons are mostly acquired via green-colored revolving power-up icons scattered around each district, and they can also be received by crushing vehicles. Weapons by gang phones can respawn during play, but others won't until you quit and resume saved status.

Weapons with a green border around their HUD icon are used on foot, while those with an orange border are used in vehicles.

All weapons have maximum 99 ammo.

Weapon Description
Pistol The pistol doesn't have a lot of firepower, but it's easy to get: Cops and SWATs are armed with pistols.
S-Uzi Machine Gun This is fully automatic and has more fire power than a pistol. Soldiers are armed with these.
Silenced S-Uzi Machine Gun This is like the normal machine gun, but its shots don't alarm people so they don't run away.
Flamethrower This can instantly set people on fire, killing them after 2 seconds. Civilians still run around while on fire. The only way to survive the fire is to use Invulnerability*. Stepping in a vehicle while on fire means death. This weapon is not that effective against vehicles, but can be used to destroy them.
Molotov Cocktails These are thrown weapons: hold the attack button longer to throw it further. They explode on impact: any person hit catches fire and dies, and most vehicles explode or at least catch fire (even a Tank can be destroyed with enough shots).
Rocket Launcher This fires a rocket that explodes on impact: it can destroy most vehicles in one shot and almost all in two. It can destroy a Tank with four direct hits. It is devastating to groups of people and can even launch them in the air. Beware of its blast radius.
Weapons in Residential and Industrial Districts
Weapon Description
Dual Pistol Two bullets are fired simultaneously in a V-shape, making it a difficult weapon to aim, but it fires faster than a single pistol.
Shotgun It fires a small shot of hail that's devastating at close range and effective against vehicles, but it needs reloading after every shot. Special Agents can use these.
ElectroGun This shocks people and vehicles in range, hitting multiple targets and arcing between them so you can hit enemies behind vehicles and over great distances. After being shocked for long enough you die, even with Invulnerability*. Unfortunately, those killed don't drop weapons.
Grenades These are thrown weapons: hold the attack button longer to throw it further. Grenades don't explode on impact, and can bounce around: after a small delay they explode, killing all people in range. They cannot destroy a Tank.
Vehicle weapons
Vehicle weapon Description
Vehicle Bomb This is installed in a vehicle. At ignition the vehicle will explode and destroy all vehicles, including armored vehicles and Tanks, and people in proximity. Only players with Invulnerability* are spared. The bomb can be installed at a Red Army Surplus for $5,000. They are activated inside the car. A beep 5 seconds before the explosion warns all players. One strategy for using this weapon is to activate it while away from your target so they can't hear the beep, then drive it into your target and make a hasty escape. However, it is likely that you won't get out of the car in time or away from the blast radius, so be prepared to die.
Vehicle Oil Slick This is dropped behind a car. Vehicles slip uncontrollably when they drive over them. They can be used to lose a hot pursuit or at least halt them a bit. The oil slick itself does not cause damage but can let them drive in to a mine, building or water. You can safely drive over an oil slick by releasing the accelerate button and letting it roll over the slick. 10 Oil slicks can be bought at Hell Oil for $10,000. Maximum 100 oil slicks can be placed: after placing 101, the first disappears.
Vehicle Machine Guns This can be acquired in two ways: first, paying $25,000 to install it with 20 ammo on a normal car at Smith & Heston's; and second, by driving a normal car over a vehicle machine gun icon (orange-colored). The vehicle machine gun consists of 2 machine guns mounted behind the headlights of the vehicle.
Vehicle Mines These are dropped behind a car. When something or someone hits the mine, it explodes with enough force to completely eliminate it. 10 vehicle mines can be bought at Gold Mines in the Residential and Industrial District for $40,000.

The following vehicle weapons are mounted on turrets, which can be turned by holding TAB + :

Vehicle weapon Description
Vehicle Machine Gun This is always mounted on an Armed Land Roamer, which can drive round Area 3: Industrial District at Wanted level 6. It's like a normal machine gun, but only has 20 ammo.
Vehicle Rocket Launcher This is always mounted on a Tank, a couple of which are parked in each district for Kill Frenzies. In the Industrial District, Tanks drive round at Wanted level 6: they also form roadblocks, which can fire at you. It's just as powerful as a normal Rocket Launcher. It has 20 ammo.
Vehicle Water Cannon This is always mounted on a Fire Truck, firing a water jet from the nozzle on top. It's meant to fight fires so it isn't an effective offensive weapon, but it can knock people down. It has infinite ammo.
Vehicle Flamethrower This can be mounted on a Fire Truck. It has infinite ammo.
