Divine Beasts are the monsters you will encounter and train in the world of Jade Cocoon 2. There are 10 main species. Each has 3 subspecies within itself and a few rare variants of a non-standard element.

If you really want to raise a certain species of Divine Beast then explore the Forest of the same dominant element to try to find beast nests or fight Beasthunters that specialize in that type. If you beat these beasthunters enough times they will give you an egg. The more wins the rarer the egg.

The only species of Divie beast that has no specific home forest are Mau and Drac because they are not all one element. They are incredibly rare compared to the other Divine Beasts.

Gara species all look very different compared to eachother. They all look well armored and take on a more crustacean or reptilian look later on.
