So there ''was'' another photo. '''Press''' on the '''4th statement''' to get more information. She’ll say that the photo was of a second or third-grade fanboy. Discuss the case with Maya and Will, but no one has any ideas. Anyone could have walked into the Dressing Room and taken the costume while Powers was sleeping. So there were other people there that day. We need to find out exact information from her. '''Press''' her on the second statement. The court will realize that Oldbag has no alibi and that she knew about Will’s ankle. '''Press further''' when you have the option. Oldbag tries to say that the kid could have done it. Wendy Oldbag has returned to her security guard duties. She appears to be a little upset that you accused her of murder. She tells you that the police released her, as she didn’t fit inside a replica Steel Samurai costume. You can talk to her but you won’t get any real information. '''Move''' to the Employee Area.

You will find a young boy with a camera in the Employee Area. He must have come in through the grate you opened. His name is Cody Hackins. '''Talk''' to him about all available topics. He will say that he "saw everything" and then he’ll run away. Once Cody leaves Maya finds an '''Empty Bottle'''. It will be added to the Court Record. You can '''examine''' the bottle in the Court Record. The label says they are Sleeping Pills. '''Move''' to the Main Gate.

Oldbag has disappeared again; she must be looking for Cody. This is your chance to get the key for the trailer at Studio Two. '''Examine''' the Guard station to get the '''Trailer Key'''. '''Move''' to Outside Studio Two.

'''Examine''' the door to the trailer, you will unlock it. '''Move''' Inside the trailer. You are now facing Dee Vasquez, the producer. When you try to talk to her she’ll just mumble something about "the script". It would appear that we need to find the script to episode 13 before she’ll talk. Be sure to '''talk''' to her about all available topics before you leave, as she will provide you will '''Vasquez’s Memo'''. You need to deliver this to Sal. '''Move''' to the Dressing Room.

'''Present''' Vasquez’s Memo to Sal. Sal says he can’t remember where he left the script. Looks like it’s up to you to find it. '''Move''' to Studio One.

You should be able to notice a script sitting on the director’s chair inside Studio One. '''Examine''' the area to receive the '''Script'''. '''Move''' to Studio Two Trailer.

'''Present''' the '''Script''' to Vasquez. She will begin to talk about the day of the murder. She’ll say that it was impossible for the people in the meeting to go to Studio One that day because Mr. Monkey was blocking the path until 4.00pm. The murder happened around 2.30pm. Phoenix will mention that someone could have gone there before Mr. Monkey fell over onto the path. Vasquez says that Mr. Monkey has a clock inside him which stopped working when he was broken. The time in Mr. Monkey is 2.15pm. It would appear that no one could have left Studio Two between 2.15pm and 4.00pm, looks like their alibi is pretty good. This information is added to the Court Record as '''Mr. Monkey’s Head'''. '''Move''' to Wright & Co. Law Offices.

Back in the office you will have a visit from an old friend. Mia has taken procession of Maya’s Body. She reminds you that you still have one lead: Cody Hackins. He said he saw everything that day. Time to try to find him! '''Move''' to Main Gate.

Oldbag has given up chasing Cody but she says she has a "hostage". She won’t tell you what it is though. '''Talk''' to her and she will mention that she would like to visit the place where Hammer died. '''Present''' the '''Card Key'''. She will trade it for the hostage. You receive the '''Steel Samurai Card'''. It’s part of a collection. Maybe this will help with getting Cody to talk. '''Move''' to the Dressing Room.

Here you will have Cody cornered. Try talking to him. Then '''present''' the '''Steel Samurai Card'''. Cody says he already has that one, Ultra Rare cards are not good enough, but Ultra Rare Premium cards are. You have to find one of these Ultra Rare Premium cards. '''Move''' to Studio Two Trailer.

Penny the assistant will be in the trailer. Talk to her and she’ll mention that something happened to Hammer however when you '''Ask further''' she will clam up and not say anything more. When you have talked about all available topics '''present''' her with the '''Steel Samurai Card'''. It turns out that she also collects Steel Samurai Cards and is willing to trade with you. Once you make the trade you will receive the '''Ultra Rare Premium Card'''. '''Move''' to the Dressing Room.

'''Present''' the '''URP card''' to Cody. '''Talk''' to him. When he asks you what you like about the Steel Samurai choose '''His fighting skills'''. Cody will give Mia his collection of Steel Samurai photos, which he has called "'''Path to Glory'''". It will be added to the Court Record. The book contains photos of the Steel Samurai landing the "finishing blow" on all his foes. Ask Cody about what he saw. He says that he saw the Steel Samurai kill the bad guy with his spear. He was scared when he saw this and ran away. This isn’t looking good. According to Cody’s statement, the Steel Samurai was certainly the killer and so far the only person that doesn’t have an alibi and could have fitted inside the costume was Will Powers! Mia says that this testimony could doom Will so it would be best not to call him to the stand in Court. Unfortunately Detective Gumshoe just happened to be walking by and heard everything. He places Cody into police protection and it is highly likely that Cody will be called to the stand tomorrow.

Mia will ask if you believe Will is innocent. Choose '''I believe'''. The chapter will automatically end.

Gumshoe takes the stand and describes the events of the day of the murder with the help of the Guidemap.

PWAA samuraispear.png
  • In the morning three people were in the Employee Area until noon: Jack Hammer, Will Powers, and Penny the assistant.
  • After lunch, Jack Hammer went to Studio One, and after that, at 1:00 PM, the security lady arrived at her post.
  • At 5:00 PM the production staff went to Studio One to perform a rehearsal, where they found the body.
  • The time of death was 2:30 PM.
  • The Samurai Spear was lodged in his chest.

The Samurai Spear is added to the Court Record as the murder weapon.

You will have the option to listen to Gumshoe’s description again, or skip it and continue. Either option is fine. Once you continue, Edgeworth calls Wendy Oldbag to the stand. Wendy will get flustered with Edgeworth and likes to talk non-stop before starting her testimony. Can you handle her testimony?

  1. On the day of the murder, I arrived at the guard station at 1:00 PM.
  2. Poor old Hammer and the rest had been doing a run-through there since the morning.
  3. I, well, I had some errands to run that morning.
  4. Anyway, it was 1:00 when I got to the guard station.
  5. I was at the main gate from then until 5:00!
  6. Now, the murder happened at 2:30 PM, right?
  7. Interesting to me, because a certain man walked right by me at 2:00 PM.
  8. It was Powers! That man right there, and he was heading toward the studio!

Witness's Account: Cross-examination[edit]

Looking at the photo presents a problem for the prosecution; they can’t prove that Will was in the costume. Present Powers’s(?) Photo against her 7th or 8th statement. Oldbag will now claim she has proof that it was Will inside the costume.

  8. That's how I knew it was Powers. Happy?

The Man in the Photo: Cross-examination[edit]

Press the 4th statement. Oldbag will inform the court that it was the Samurai Spear that was broken, and that she fixed it with some duct tape. The Samurai Spear will be updated in the Court Record. Also press the 2nd or 3rd statement. It becomes clear that the assistant, Penny, wasn’t watching the action sequence, meaning she didn't know Powers sprained his ankle.

Once you have the information about the assistant and the spear, cycle through the statements until Edgeworth stops you. The judge wants to know what happened to the Steel Samurai costume, but no one's found it. Edgeworth will say that there is no doubt that it was Will. It doesn't matter what you choose, as the judge doesn't seem so sure. Oldbag will continue her testimony.

  1. Every day, after I finish my guard duties, I have one other important job to do.

So there was another photo. Press on the 4th statement to get more information. She’ll say that the photo was of a second or third-grade fanboy. He must have entered the studios through the drain in the Employee Area. She tells the court that this fanboy was a kid. Edgeworth declares that the kid could not have been the murderer, as the Samurai Spear would have been far too heavy for the child to wield. The judge will call a five-minute recess to consider this new information.

Recess[edit]

Discuss the case with Maya and Will, but no one has any ideas. Anyone could have walked into the Dressing Room and taken the costume while Powers was sleeping. You have to try to extend the trial for an extra day, and your best shot is to accuse someone else. If you choose wrong, it will mean disaster.

Back in court[edit]

When you return to the courtroom, you will have to accuse someone of the murder. Your choices are Penny the assistant, Oldbag or the fanboy kid.

Choose "The security lady", since Penny didn't know Powers would be limping and the boy was too weak to heft the spear. Choosing the assistant or the fanboy kid will get a hilarious reaction in the court and yes, penalize you for accusing the innocent. Life can be cruel sometimes.

The court will realize that Oldbag has no alibi and that she knew about Will’s ankle. Press further when you have the option. Oldbag tries to say that the kid could have done it. So there were other people there that day. You need to find out exact information from her. Press her on the 2nd statement or alternatively 5th statement. She will state that the director and the producer were at the studio. The director was apparently at the action sequence rehearsal when Will injured his ankle! After the rehearsal, he met with the producer and went to the Studio Two Trailer.

You have the option to continue the cross-examination or take a break. Choose "Take a break". The judge will end the case for the day so that further investigation can be done regarding the director and the producer.
