Route 24 is a great place to level up your Pokémon. If you beat the first five trainers, you win a Nugget.

When you beat all of the five trainers, talk to the sixth guy. He'll give you the Nugget, then try to convert you to Team Rocket. Then, he'll fight.
In the grass to the west of the bridge is another trainer.
Head north to get a TM45 (Attract). Move east to Route 25.
