Angela is weak physically but makes up for it with powerful damaging spells. All the spells she can learn do damage, but a few of the Rune Master's spells can do status effects in addition to damage. If you prefer fast-paced gameplay, you might want to avoid Angela because if you use her, you will spend a lot of time watching her spell animations over and over again. However, they can be quite powerful, especially when you use the elements that the monsters are weak against.

Starting Class: Magician

Tech: Double Attack

Spells

  • Learns
    • Holy Ball - Single/Multi Target
    • Gem Missile - Single/Multi Target
    • Air Blast - Single/Multi Target
    • Evil Gate - Single/Multi Target
    • Ice Smash - Single/Multi Target
    • Fireball - Single/Multi Target

She learns a lot of magic spells, and can even target all enemies with each of them, but has weak physical attack power. It's very possible that you may class change her before she learns all of her spells (namely Fireball and/or Ice Smash). If you do, she will simply learn those spells in her next class once you find the appropriate Spirit and level up again.

First Class Change

Light: Sorceress

Tech: Pink Typhoon - Single Target

Spells

  • Starts with
    • Holy Ball - Single/Multi Target
    • Gem Missile - Single/Multi Target
    • Air Blast - Single/Multi Target
    • Evil Gate - Single/Multi Target
    • Ice Smash - Single/Multi Target
    • Fireball - Single/Multi Target
  • Learns
    • Saint Beam - Single Target
    • Earthquake - Single Target
    • Thunderstorm - Single Target
    • Mega Splash - Single Target
    • Explode - Single Target

The Sorceress learns many new spells (unlike the Delvar) which help a lot while fighting five of the eight Godbeasts.

Dark: Delvar

Tech: Star Attack - Single Target

Spells

  • Starts with
    • Holy Ball - Single/Multi Target
    • Gem Missile - Single/Multi Target
    • Air Blast - Single/Multi Target
    • Evil Gate - Single/Multi Target
    • Ice Smash - Single/Multi Target
    • Fireball - Single/Multi Target
  • Learns
    • Dark Force - Single Target

The Delvar learns much fewer spells than the Sorceress does. The reason for this is to save room in her spell book for the Rune Master's high powered elemental spells. The downside to this is she doesn't have as many useful spells as the Sorceress does when you fight the Godbeasts. Dark Force is useful against the Godbeast of Light though (who is one of the most difficult).

Second Class Change

    • Mega Splash - Single/Multi Target
    • Explode - Single/Multi Target

The Grand Devina is very similar to the Arch Mage. The main difference is that the Grand Devina learns Double Spell and the Arch Mage learns Rainbow. Both spells are powerful spells that hit all enemies.

Light/Dark: Arch Mage

Tech: Dancing Rod - Single Target

The Arch Mage is very similar to the Grand Devina. The main difference is that the Grand Devina learns Double Spell and the Arch Mage learns Rainbow. Both spells are powerful spells that hit all enemies.

Dark/Light: Rune Master

Requires Item: Book of Rune

Tech: 10t - Single Target

Spells

  • Starts with
    • Holy Ball - Single/Multi Target
    • Gem Missile - Single/Multi Target
    • Air Blast - Single/Multi Target
    • Evil Gate - Single/Multi Target
    • Ice Smash - Single/Multi Target
    • Fireball - Single/Multi Target
  • Upgrades
    • Dark Force - Single/Multi Target
  • Learns
    • Stone Cloud - Single Target
    • Stun Wind - Single Target
    • Cold Breeze - Single Target
    • Blaze Wall - Single Target
    • DeathSpell - Single Target

The Rune Master learns some very powerful single target spells which makes her very useful against bosses, but not quite as useful against groups of enemies. Her spells can cause some very noticeable status effects like silence and petrify. DeathSpell is the most powerful Single Target spell in the game; it does 999 damage to the target regardless of magic defense and even works on bosses! The downside is that it only works on monsters that are the same level as you or lower.

Dark/Dark: Magus

Requires Item: Forbidden Book

Tech: Hot Shot - Single Target

Spells

  • Starts with
    • Holy Ball - Single/Multi Target
    • Gem Missile - Single/Multi Target
    • Air Blast - Single/Multi Target
    • Evil Gate - Single/Multi Target
    • Ice Smash - Single/Multi Target
    • Fireball - Single/Multi Target
  • Upgrades
    • Dark Force - Single Target
  • Learns
    • Earthquake - Single/Multi Target
    • Thunderstorm - Single/Multi Target
    • Mega Splash - Single/Multi Target
    • Explode - Single/Multi Target
    • Ancient - Multi Target

While the Rune Master excels at damaging single targets, the Magus excels at damaging groups. Ancient is the most powerful multi target spell in the game. Unfortunately, it comes with a hefty MP cost and the longest animation of any spell in the game.
