Another murder, another Monokuma File. Monokuma File #4 states that Nekomaru/Mechamaru's cause of death is severe damage to his head, which is now beyond repair. His arms and legs look severed, but they were actually designed to be detachable, so their separation from the rest of his body is only an indication that Mechamaru was hit by a severe impact. What could have been used to cause such an impact? It's time to investigate.

Grape Tower[edit]

Start by examining Nekomaru's body. Examine his chest, the cover of which is now too dented to open. Examine the Metal Wire wrapped around his leg. Wiring is also wrapped around his arms, binding him completely. It's mystifying that someone was able to bind Nekomaru like this when he was so strong. Another odd detail is the loop at the end of the wire; what could have been its purpose? Examine Nekomaru's head and Hajime will notice the Good Night Button on the back of his neck. Could this have been what the killer used to incapacitate him? Examine the Oil on the Floor by Nekomaru's head. While the oil (which is essentially robot blood) can be found all around the body, the biggest pool of it is by his head, further indicating that his head experienced the most severe impact.

Back away from the body and examine the New-Looking Hammer nearby. Due to its proximity to the body, one would naturally assume that this is the murder weapon, but there is strangely no oil to be found on it. It isn't clear where such an item even came from, as there is no supermarket to raid in here. Pan the camera left and examine the tip of the Tipped Over Pillar. Akane claims that this could have been the murder weapon, but a short test proves that it would not have been possible for any of the students to lift...with the exception being the victim. Regardless, this is the only broken pillar in the room, so Hajime is sure that it's significant in some way.

Speak to Sonia, who points out that there is no time of death recorded in the Monokuma File, just as in the previous case, and that Grape and Strawberry Tower are both the scene of the murder, as they are technically the same building. Speak to Chiaki, who points out that there are Pillar Fragments below NekoMechamaru's body, but hardly any on top. She seems to think this is a significant clue. Speak to Akane for Akane's Account; she mentions that a loud rumbling awoke her at 5:30 AM, per the clock in the Lounge. Hajime remembers being woken by what seemed like an earthquake as well, but could that sound have had to do with the case? Finally, examine the doors at the back of the room, which have a Chain wrapped around them. Was this the killer's way of locking the door? That's all there is to investigate here, so exit the room and go to the Lounge on the second floor to investigate the ringing sound that Akane's hearing.

Lounge[edit]

In the Lounge, examine the phone. After the scene, you'll begin an investigation from a new perspective. Speak to Fuyuhiko for Fuyuhiko's Account. He claims he saw Nekomaru walking off at 5:00 AM, and sat in the Lounge to wait for his return, though it never came. Speak to Kazuichi for his account of the Wall Clock incident, in which the alarm went off at 5:30 AM and a loud rumble followed soon after. Nagito believes that the clock and the rumbling sound are connected in some way, and also seems to think that he's the most suspicious of the group... Somehow, being inside his head is no less confusing than being outside of it.

Strawberry House[edit]

After the discussion, exit the Lounge and go down the stairs to the elevator. Examine the Elevator and Kazuichi will determine that the elevator's settings were messed with on the Grape House side, meaning the last person who used the elevator used it to get to Grape House. Before leaving, Nagito leaves Kazuichi with one final task: look at the compass on the multi-tool while taking the elevator. Go down Strawberry Hall and examine the doors at the end to find that Strawberry Hall's Button, which would ordinarily open the door to Strawberry Tower, has been tampered with just as Grape House's elevator was. Finally, back out of Strawberry Hall and examine the doors to the Final Dead Room.

Final Dead Room[edit]

On the right wall, examine the desk, then open the center drawer for pliers and the right drawer for a password hint. On the left wall, open the closet door and take the hanger inside. Use the pliers on the hanger for a wire. Use the wire on the bed for a desk key. Examine the desk and use the desk key on the left drawer for scissors. Use the scissors on the Monokuma plushie by the bed for batteries. Examine the keypad on the left wall and enter the combination "3957" for a USB stick and a digital camera. Use the batteries on the digital camera. Use the USB stick on the laptop and enter the password "SMVEMJS." Examine the device on the wall by the laptop and Nagito will make an observation. Examine the keypad on the left wall again and enter the combination "9875." Use the USB stick on the device near the laptop to clear the Final Dead Room.

After a scene, turn left and examine the line of refrigerators and the floor hatch. Turn right to examine the weapons along the right and left walls, as well as the window on the back wall.

Grape House[edit]

DR2 bullet Kazuichis Account.png

After the scene, speak with Nagito and Hajime will ask about Nagito's Sudden Appearance. How could he have appeared here if the elevator is out of order? Speak to Chiaki and then Nagito again to obtain all of his Truth Bullets, as well as some more information. Then exit the lounge and go down the stairs to be greeted by the other students. Nagito will speak to Kazuichi for Kazuichi's Account of the compass in the elevator. Kazuichi says that the needle of the compass rotated 180°, and Nagito takes this as proof that the elevator must have turned 180°.

DR2 bullet Broken Doorknob.png

Go down Grape Hall after the discussion and enter Grape Tower. After the discussion, speak to Kazuichi, then examine Nekomaru's body again. Examine Nekomaru's chest and Hajime will notice that the Clock's Alarm Timer has been set for 7:30 AM. Is this when it stopped working? Hajime notes that this is strange because Nekomaru previously mentioned that this is a Radio Clock, which should never fall behind. But everyone should have been up by 7:00 AM for Monokuma's tai chi session. Back away from Nekomaru's body and speak to Nagito.

Nagito brings attention to the presence of a Broken Doorknob which has scratches on its base. The Strawberry Hall doors look undamaged, so this doorknob could only have come from the Grape Hall doors that everyone passed through. Thus, the only way to find out is to enter the tower through Strawberry Hall. Nagito seems to have a plan, so exit the tower and examine the elevator to move to another area.

Return to Strawberry House[edit]

DR2 bullet Strange Feeling in the Tower.png

Go down Strawberry Hall and examine the doors to enter Strawberry Tower. Everyone will notice a Strange Feeling in the Tower, due mainly to two things: the fact that everyone was able to enter despite the chains on the doors, and the position of the crime scene, which is exactly the same as it was when the group entered through Grape Hall. This seems to indicate that the room rotated 180° just as the elevator did, but why? Examine the doors at the back of the room and Hajime will notice that one of the doors is missing its doorknob. This must be where the broken doorknob from earlier came from, but what does it indicate? The structure of the Funhouse just keeps getting more mysterious, but solving it will be crucial to solving the case. After the scene, the class trial will begin.
