MK Stage 8.png

Note: In two-player mode, this stage is named "Stage 4B", for it is one of two choices for the fourth stage (the other being Stage 7, which is "Stage 4A").

Main stage[edit]

Once Happy has dropped down into view from the top of the screen (and Rappy with him in two-player mode), you will have to slow your descent to land on the first step of an eight-block platform and collect three coins, as you come to a crab who is walking back and forth; once you have kicked him away, you will have to drop down to the second step of the platform as you come to a chest. Once you have kicked it to open it a rollerskate will emerge from it - and you shall then have to jump up to the second level of a window, as you come to another crab who is walking back and forth. Once you have kicked him away, you will have to jump onto an eleven-block platform as you come to two more chests; once you have kicked both of them to open them, a ring and a crystal shall emerge from them. You will then have to jump up and kick the third and fourth blocks in a four-block stack to destroy them - and once you've done so, you'll have to drop down to the left onto a fifteen-block platform, to collect six more coins. You will now have to drop back down onto the ground as you come to two more chests; once you have kicked both of them to open them two more crystals will emerge from them. You will then come to a third crab who's walking back and forth - and once you've kicked him away, you shall have to jump onto a two-block platform and a three-block one in turn as you come to a fourth crab who is walking back and forth. Once you have kicked him away you will have to jump back to the left onto an eight-block platform as you come to a sixth chest; once you've kicked it to open it, a fourth crystal will emerge from it. You will now have to jump over another two-block platform and a one-block one (while slowing your descent to land on a third two-block platform) - and you shall now come to a seventh chest. Once you've kicked it to open it, a fifth crystal will emerge from it; you will then have to jump over to another three-block platform, as you come to a fifth crab who's walking back and forth. Once you've kicked him away, you'll come to an eighth chest - and once you have kicked it to open it, a sixth crystal will emerge from it. You will now have to jump over to a fourth two-block platform while slowing your descent; once you have landed, you will come to a ninth chest. Once you have kicked it to open it a seventh crystal will emerge from it - and you will then have to jump over to a third three-block platform as you come to a sixth crab who is walking back and forth. Once you've kicked him away, you'll come to a tenth chest; once you have kicked it to open it, another ring will emerge from it. You will then have to jump over to a fifth two-block platform while slowing your descent - and once you have landed, you will come to an eleventh chest. Once you have kicked it to open it, a third ring will emerge from it; you will then have to jump over to a fourth three-block platform as you come to a seventh crab who's walking back and forth. Once you've kicked him away, you shall have to jump over to a fifth three-block platform while slowing your descent - and once you have landed, you shall come to a twelfth chest. Once you have kicked it to open it, an eighth crystal will emerge from it; you will then have to jump over to the top of a sixth two-block platform and drop back down onto the ground as you come to an eighth crab who is walking back and forth. Once you have kicked him away you will have to jump back to the left onto the top of the sixth two-block platform, jump to the right onto the top of a four-block platform, and jump up to the second level of another window in turn as you come to a ninth crab who is walking back and forth - and once you've kicked him away, you'll come to two more chests. Once you have kicked both of these, to open them, two more rings shall emerge from them - and you must now jump onto two more one-block platforms and the fifth step of a thirty-four-block platform in turn to collect six more coins. You'll now come to a fifteenth chest; once you have kicked it to open it, a ninth crystal shall emerge from it. You will then have to jump onto a vertically-moving dandelion seed and the first step of a twenty-six-block platform in turn, and drop down to the second step of this platform as you come to a tenth crab who's walking back and forth - and once you've kicked him away, you'll have to jump up to each of the platform's next four steps in turn, fall down to the sixth step of a thirty-six-block platform, jump onto another vertically-moving dandelion seed and the first step of another twenty-six-block platform in turn, and drop down to the second step of this platform as a Mewky from the three previous Mappy games comes walking towards you. Once you've kicked him away you shall come to a sixteenth chest; once you have kicked it to open it, a tenth crystal will emerge from it. You now have to jump onto each of the platform's next three steps in turn, kicking the three additional chests (one on each step) to open them while you do so (for three more crystals will emerge from them) - and you'll then have to jump up to the platform's sixth step, drop down onto the sixth step of another thirty-six-block platform and jump up to a sixth three-block platform as you come up to a twentieth chest. Once you kick it to open it, a fourteenth crystal will emerge from it; you will then have to jump onto a seventh three-block platform, as you come to an eleventh crab who is walking back and forth. Once you have kicked him away, you shall come to a twenty-first chest - and once you have kicked it to open it, a fifteenth crystal will emerge from it. You will then have to jump onto an eighth three-block platform as you come to a twelfth crab who is walking back and forth; once you have kicked him away, you'll come to a twenty-second chest. Once you've kicked it, to open it, a sixteenth crystal shall emerge from it - and you shall now have to drop back down onto the ground, jump up to the first level of a third window, jump back to the left onto a seventh two-block platform and jump back to the right onto the second level of the third window as you come to two more chests. Once you've kicked both of them to open them two more crystals will emerge from them; you now have to jump over to the right side of an eleven-block platform, turn back to the left, kick the platform's fourth block to destroy it and drop back down to the left onto the ground as you come to a twenty-fifth chest. Once you kick it to open it, a nineteenth crystal will emerge from it - and you will now have to walk back to the left and enter the mousehole to proceed to the slot machine for an eighth time.

Slot machine[edit]

MK Slot Machine.jpg

Note: If you spin a Maneki Neko, Nyamco head or Happy head on the slot machine in two-player mode, then win the bonus game, Nyamco shall ask whether you want to steal a part from (or trade one with) the other player or not; if you answer in the negative, you shall be given 20000 Yen instead.

The slot machine is much the same as it was on the previous stages (including Nyamco's dialogue), but spinning a skull on it can still cost you a house part if you had won one in a question box, or had bought one or more from the shop (in addition to the initial penalty of losing 20000 Yen, which is also the penalty for losing a bonus game); once you spin an item that is not a skull in one-player mode (after the possibility of spinning one more than once, which if done enough times may end up losing you all the Yen you collected) and Nyamco has described it, he shall speak the following Hiragana text:

げーむは.... (Gēmu ha....)
はたあげ げーむ にゃんにゃん (Hata age-gēmu nya n nya n)
ミューターが とくいだにゃあ (Myūtā ga toku ida nya a)

You may remember from the first stage that in Zynk Oxhyde's English translation, the above text is translated to "I think Mewta is good at flag game."; once you have pressed A button to continue, the images on the slot machine's reels will change to the three anthropomorphic Mewkies' heads as Nyamco starts telling you who your opponent is going to be (remember that Mewta is the "normal"-looking Mewky on a green background, while Mewchi is the sinister-looking one on a blue background, and Mew-mew the happy-looking one on a red background). Once you spin the head of a specific Mewky, Nyamco will finish telling you that this Mewky is going to be your opponent - and once you have pushed A button to continue, the game will proceed to the "Flags" bonus game for a third time (refer to its section on Stage 1's page for a description). Once you have beaten the Mewky whose head you spun twice, Nyamco will hail Happy as the winner, and give him the prize you had spun on the slot machine; once you press A button to continue, the game will proceed to the shop. However, once Nyamco has finished describing the item you spun in two-player mode, he will speak the following Hiragana text instead (which you may again remember translates as "Next photo bonus game!", and additional differences will be added to the pictures each time):

つぎの... (Tsugi no...)
まちがいさがし げーむ に (Machigai-sa ga shigēmu ni)
かったほうに あげるにゃあ (Katta hō ni ageru nya a)

Once you have pressed A button to continue, the game will proceed to the "Spot the Difference" bonus game (refer to its section on Stage 1's page for a description); once either mouse has found five differences, Nyamco will hail him as the winner, and give him the prize you spun on the slot machine.

Shop[edit]

MK Shop 3.jpg

The shop is much the same as it was in the previous stages (including the elephant's dialogue); however, if you spun a skull on the slot machine in one-player mode earlier (and you did not win it back in a question box), the price for the part you lost shall have been returned to the wall, and if the part was either a flower or swing part, the prices for the remaining ones shall also have been raised back to those of the previous bonus value. Once you (or both players in two-player mode) finish shopping, the screen will cut to the shot of the anthropomorphised Happy (and Rappy in two-player mode), looking at the pictures of their partially-built houses - and once the game returns to the overworld map, you'll have to push down on the D-Pad in one-player mode to proceed to Stage 9, or press up on the D-Pad in two-player mode in order to proceed to "Stage 5" (where Mappy himself will be waiting for his sons).
