MK Stage 9.png

Note: In two-player mode, this stage is named "Stage 5", on account of the fact that it is the fifth and final stage of the game as opposed to the ninth one.

Main stage[edit]

Once Happy has dropped down into view from the top of the screen (and Rappy with him in two-player mode), you will have to slow your descent as you pass over a bouncing spiked ball and drop down to the ground; you shall now come to two boxes. Once you have kicked both of them to open them, two crystals will emerge from them - and a Mewky from the three previous Mappy games will then come walking towards you. Once you've kicked him away, you shall have to jump onto two pipes and a fence in turn as you come to a crab who is walking back and forth; once you have kicked him away, you will come to three more boxes. Once you've kicked each of them to open them, two rings and a third crystal will emerge from them - and you shall then have to drop down onto a third pipe to collect four coins, and jump onto a fourth pipe to come to two more boxes. Once you have kicked both of these to open them, two more rings will emerge from them; you will then have to jump over a pit while slowing your descent to land on a fifth pipe, jump onto two more pipes in turn, jump over two more pipes while slowing your descent, to land on a tenth one, jump over four more pipes while slowing your descent to get four more coins and land on a fifteenth pipe, and jump onto two more pipes and another fence in turn, as you come to another crab who is walking back and forth. Once you have kicked him away, you will come to two more boxes - and once you have kicked both of them to open them, a rollerskate and a fifth ring will emerge from them. You will now have to jump onto an eighteenth pipe (while watching for another bouncing spiked ball, that disappears off the top of the screen at the height of its jump) as you come to two more boxes; once you've kicked both of these, to open them, a sixth ring and a fourth crystal will emerge from them. You'll now have to drop down to the left while slowing your descent to collect four more coins, and drop back down to the right onto a nineteenth pipe before you fall into a ninth pit - and you'll now have to jump over a block onto a twentieth pipe as you come to a twelfth box. Once you have kicked it to open it a fifth crystal will emerge from it; you will now have to jump over a tenth pit while slowing your descent to land on the ground as you come to a thirteenth box. Once you kick it to open it, another rollerskate shall emerge from it - and you'll now come to a third crab who is walking back and forth. Once you have kicked him away a white mouse shall come walking towards you; once you have kicked him, he shall be turned upside-down and start zigzagging into the air. You will now have to jump onto the upturned white mouse and a twenty-first pipe in turn, then jump back to the left and kick the fourth block in a five-block platform to destroy it - and once you've landed on what is left of the five-block platform, you will come to a fourteenth box. Once you have kicked it to open it, a seventh ring shall emerge from it; you will then have to jump back to the left over a one-block platform to collect four more coins and drop down onto another five-block platform as you come to a fifteenth box. Once you have kicked it to open it a sixth crystal will emerge from it - and you then have to kick the platform's first block to destroy it as you come to a sixteenth box. Once you've kicked it for opening it, a seventh crystal shall emerge from it; you will then have to jump back to the left over the tenth pit while slowing your descent, and drop back down to the right onto the ground to collect twelve more coins before you fall into the pit. Once you've landed you will have to walk to the right as you come to two more boxes - and once you've kicked both of them to open them, two more rings shall emerge from them. You will then have to walk back to the left, as another white mouse comes walking towards you; once you kick him, he'll be turned upside-down and start zigzagging into the air. You will then have to jump onto the upturned white mouse and back up to the twenty-first pipe in turn as you come to two more boxes - and once you have kicked both of them to open them, two more rings will emerge from them. You then have to jump back to the left onto the upturned white mouse and jump back to the right onto a twenty-second pipe (while watching out for a third bouncing spiked ball, which will again disappear off the top of the screen at the height of its jump); you will now come to two more boxes. Once you have kicked both of them to open them two more rings will emerge from them - and you will then have to jump over to a twenty-third pipe while slowing your descent to collect six more coins. Once you have landed, a ghost will come flying towards you; once you've kicked him away you'll come to a twenty-first box. Once you've kicked it to open it, a third rollerskate shall emerge from it - and you'll now have to jump over to a thirtieth pipe to collect six more coins. Once you've landed you shall come to three more boxes; once you kick each of them to open them, three more rings will emerge from them. You now have to drop down onto a thirty-third pipe's right side, as you come to three more boxes (which are stacked on top of each other) - and once you have turned back to the left, jumped up, and kicked each of them to open them, three more rings will emerge from them. You must then jump back to the left onto the top of a thirty-fifth pipe, drop back down to the left onto the left side of the thirty-third one and enter the mousehole in a thirty-fourth one to proceed to the slot machine for a ninth time.

Slot machine[edit]

MK Slot Machine.jpg

Note: If you spin a Maneki Neko, Nyamco head or Happy head on the slot machine in two-player mode, then win the bonus game, Nyamco shall ask whether you want to steal a part from (or trade one with) the other player or not; if you answer in the negative, you shall be given 20000 Yen instead.

The slot machine is much the same as it was on the previous stages (including Nyamco's dialogue), but spinning a skull on it can still cost you a house part if you had won one in a question box, or had bought one or more from the shop (in addition to the initial penalty of losing 20000 Yen, which is also the penalty for losing a bonus game); once you spin an item that is not a skull in one-player mode (after the possibility of spinning one more than once, which if done enough times may end up losing you all the Yen you collected) and Nyamco has described it, he shall speak the following Hiragana text:

げーむ は.... (Gēmu ha....)
まちがいさがし げーむ にゃん (Machigai-sa ga shigēmunyan)
ミューミューが とくいだにゃあ (Myūmyū ga toku ida nya a)

You may remember that in Zynk Oxhyde's English translation the above text translates to "I think Mew-mew is good at photo game." ("Mew-mew" being the happy-looking Mewky, whose head is displayed on a red background); once you've pressed A button to continue, the images on the slot machine's reels will change to the three anthropomorphic Mewkies' heads (remember that the "normal"-looking Mewky whose head is displayed on a green background is Mewta, while the sinister-looking one whose head's shown on a blue background is Mewchi) as Nyamco starts telling you who your opponent's going to be. Once you've spun the head of a specific Mewky, Nyamco shall finish telling you that this Mewky will be your opponent - and once you've pressed A button to continue, the game shall proceed to the "Spot the Difference" bonus game (refer to its section on Stage 3's page for a description). Once you've found five differences before the Mewky whose head you spun does, Nyamco will hail Happy as the winner and give him the prize you spun on the slot machine; once you have pressed A button to continue the game will proceed to the shop for the ninth time. However, once Nyamco has finished describing the item you spun in two-player mode he will speak the following Hiragana text instead (which for the third time translates as "Next flag bonus game!"):

つぎの... (Tsugi no...)
はたあげ げーむ に (Hata age-gēmu ni)
かったほうに あげるにゃあ (Katta hō ni ageru nya a)

Once you have pressed A button to continue, the game shall proceed to the "Flags" bonus game for a third time (refer to its section on Stage 2B's page for a description); once either mouse beats the other one twice, Nyamco will hail him as the winner, and give him the prize that you spun on the slot machine. Once you have pressed A button to continue, the game will proceed to the shop for the last time - and in this mode, you do not need a full house for a happy ending, just more parts than the other player. If both players have the same amount of parts, the one with the more expensive parts shall be the winner.

Shop and two-player ending[edit]

MK Shop 3.jpg

The shop is much the same as it was in the previous stages (including the elephant's dialogue); however, if you spun a skull on the slot machine in one-player mode earlier (and you did not win it back in a question box), the price for the part you lost shall have been returned to the wall, and if the part was either a flower or swing part, the prices for the remaining ones shall also have been raised back to those of the previous bonus value. Once both players finish shopping in two-player mode two sepia pictures of both players' partially (or possibly totally)-built houses shall appear at the top of the screen with the anthropomorphic Happy and Rappy below them as Picky, their prospective bride, walks back and forth between them - and she shall then run to the mouse whose house has more parts (or more expensive ones) and kiss him on the cheek. Mappy himself shall now appear at the top of the screen and speak the following Hiragana/Katakana text (and each time a flashing inverted triangle appears at the bottom of his speech bubble you must push A button):

MK Ending (2P).png
ふたりとも よくがんばったちゅう (Futari tomo yoku ganbattachū)
ピッキーにきにいられた (Pikkī ni ki ni i rareta)
ハッピー/ラッピーよ おめでとう (Happī/Rappī yo omedetō)
ピッキーをよろしくたのむちゅう (Pikkī wo yoroshikuta no muchū)
ざんねんながら ふられて (Zan'nen'nagara fura rete)
しまった ハッピー/ラッピーよ (Shimatta Happī/Rappī yo)
いつかきみにもすてきなひとが (Itsuka kimi ni mo sutekina hito ga)
あらわれるさちゅう これぐらいの (Arawareru sachū kore gurai no)
ことで やけになるなちゅう (Koto de yake ni naru na chū)
ふたりとも それぞれのゆめに (Futari tomo sorezore no yume ni)
むかって これからも (Mukatte korekara mo)
がんばるんだちゅう (Ganbaru nda chū)

The screen will then cut to a shot of the losing player's mouse dejectedly looking down over the sepia picture of the winning player's house, with the text "HAPPY END", Mappy sitting in a chair, and the winning player's mouse with Picky below it; once it has faded out, a theatre curtain shall rise on a stage as the three Mewkies, Mappy and Nyamco, and that winning player's mouse and Picky dance arm-in-arm with each other on it while that losing player's mouse runs back and forth in his regular form in front of it. The game shall then return to the title screen, and remain there until you turn off the console.

However, in one-player mode, the game is not over just yet (as evidenced by the fact that when you finish shopping, the screen will cut to the shot of the anthropomorphic Happy looking at the picture of his partially-built house); once the game has returned to the overworld map, you will have to press right on the D-Pad to proceed to Stage 10, which is the first of seven stages that are exclusive to this mode (but there are two choices for the fourteenth one).
