You can customize the look of your character by outfitting him or her with different accessories. The main categories of accessories are Hat, Glasses and the catch-all Other. You can find purchase these items in shops, make your own, get them from enemies or acquire them in a special way. You can wear one accessory in each category. To select your wardrobe, enter the Inventory section in the menu and select Accessories. Select a piece of attire in each category and your dog will be displayed wearing it.

The Dog Island also has a creation system for accessories. New accessories are produced by combining two or more existing items. The items used fall into four categories:

Enemies throughout the [[../Wild Areas|island]] will drop certain items if you can perform a full howl on them by holding down {{control|{{wii|Minus}}|{{psx|X}}}} for the longest period of time. Sometimes they will drop useful [[../Scent List#Tools|Tools]] to keep your health up, but most of the time they will drop accessories that you can't find anywhere else. Each type of animal in each area has a different accessory, and will drop an item 10% of the time, on average. Every once in a while, the item dropped will be a health-related item that is region-specific. To find the accessory you're looking for, locate the item in the table, then go to the associated area and howl at all enemies of the type specified. Keep running in and out of the area to reset the drops until you find what you're looking for. For specific information on how to stun certain enemies, use the link in the Enemy column to see their entries on the [[../Enemies|Enemies page]].

==Collector Hats==
These hats are acquired by completing Collector books. Check in with the Collectors in [[../Safe Areas#Pupsville|Pupsville]] to see what they need. As you go through the game you'll find more and more [[../Wild Areas|places]] to collect items. As you complete the books you'll get [[../Scent List#Anc Water|Anc Water]] for finishing different sections and you'll be rewarded with a special hat for completing the whole thing. Even after you've given them a certain item, go ahead and bring them more because they'll give you a Woof for each one.

You can customize the look of your character by outfitting him or her with different accessories. The main categories of accessories are Hat, Glasses and the catch-all Other. You can purchase these items in Accessory Shops, make your own, get them from enemies or acquire them in a special way. You can wear one accessory in each category. To select your wardrobe, enter the Inventory section in the menu and select Accessories. Select a piece of attire in each category and your dog will be displayed wearing it.

Shops[edit]

Each village on The Dog Island has two shops, an Item Shop and an Accessory Shop. The Item Shop sells consumable, health-related items like Medicinal Herbs and Antidotes. Both have different items in the windows of their shops. The quick way to note which is which, is to remember that the accessory shop has a Guitar on display. Each Accessory Shop sells some items which can't be found anywhere else on the island. However, all shops will carry the New Products you create.

New Products[edit]

The Dog Island also has a creation system for accessories. New accessories are produced by combining two or more existing items. The items used fall into four categories:

  1. Accessories bought in shops
  2. Accessories previously created by you
  3. Normal items you either find or win in the mini-games
  4. Butterflies

Talk with Hope in Malshige's Shop in Pupsville to create new products. You must have all necessary items in your personal inventory in order to make a new accessory. After you have completed a New Product, it will be available for purchase at any Accessory Shop on The Dog Island.

Enemy Drops[edit]

Enemies throughout the island will drop certain items if you can perform a full howl on them by holding down Minus button for the longest period of time. Sometimes they will drop useful Tools to keep your health up, but most of the time they will drop accessories that you can't find anywhere else. Each type of animal in each area has a different accessory, and will drop an item 10% of the time, on average. Every once in a while, the item dropped will be a health-related item that is region-specific. To find the accessory you're looking for, locate the item in the table, then go to the associated area and howl at all enemies of the type specified. Keep running in and out of the area to reset the drops until you find what you're looking for. For specific information on how to stun certain enemies, use the link in the Enemy column to see their entries on the Enemies page.

Collector Hats[edit]

These hats are acquired by completing Collector books. Check in with the Collectors in Pupsville to see what they need. As you go through the game you'll find more and more places to collect items. As you complete the books you'll get Anc Water for finishing different sections and you'll be rewarded with a special hat for completing the whole thing. Even after you've given them a certain item, go ahead and bring them more because they'll give you a Woof for each one.
