Vale

As the game begins, the village is in danger of being destroyed by a huge boulder on Mount Aleph. Isaac's mother, Dora, wakes him up and directs him to go south to the Plaza at the entrance of the village. Whenever Isaac trys to go south, though, a boulder will fall into his path. The boulders will force you to go north instead. The boulders will make you follow a certain path for now.

When you pass the house to the north of your house, stop and talk to Garet and convince him to leave his things. Once the two of you cross the river, the boulder will start to fall and the elders will tell you to hurry to the plaza. Once you head west into a new area of town, you'll pass by a villager lying on the ground. If you talk to him, he'll ask if you think he'll die. If you say he won't, he'll survive. As you continue, you'll encounter your first battles. Use these to get used to how battles work.

Eventually, you'll get to Jenna's house and you'll see her family and your parents on a bridge trying to reach Felix, who is stuck in the middle of the river. Dora and Jenna leave to look for someone who has Psynergy to help and Dora sends you to the plaza to help Jenna. Once you find Jenna, you and Garet will take her and another villager back to her house to save Felix. When you get there, though, the boulder will fall and everyone will fall into the river. When you go to get help, you run into a mysterious pair and hear part of their conversation. When they see you, they fight you to keep you from telling anyone what you heard. When they beat you, you black out.
