Route 18

Don't miss the trader in the gate's top floor. They will trade you a Lickitung for a Slowbro (LeafGreen)/Golduck (FireRed). Just before Fuchsia City, you will find three bird keepers past the gate. Rematch the easternmost trainer, Bird Keeper Jacob, using the VS Seeker for one of the fastest ways to gain experience in the whole game. He has a team of four level 47 Fearow.

Golduck Slowbro Lickitung

New Pokémon

#108 Lickitung

If you're collecting all of the Pokémon, the guard post in Route 18 is a good opportunity to trade a Golduck, or Slowbro for a Lickitung. But if it's utility that interests you, you're better off keeping the Golduck or Slowbro. Lickitung is a hearty fellow, but its array of Normal moves is poor.

Remember that Pokémon with nicknames from other trainers cannot be renamed. However, they let you breed new Pokémon of the same species.
