Wii U VC configuration: It's basically the same as the Classic Controller with the ZL button and ZR button on the backs instead of the top middle. In addition, you're allowed to configure the controls with the exception of the Neutral dpad. You can access the Virtual Console menu by touching the Wii U Gamepad screen.

The best recommendation in setting up the controls follows like this:

  • ZL button for spin dash (Z button).
  • ZR button for R button.
  • L button for use items on the field (Left c)
  • R button for switch partner on the field (Right c)
  • Y button for view status (Up c)
  • X button for use partner ability (Down c)
  • Minus button for Virtual Console menu
  • A button for Jump (A button).
  • B button for Hammer (B button).
  • Neutral lstick for control stick (Neutral control).
  • Neutral rstick stick for the C Buttons.
  • Plus button as a pause button (Start button).
