Meepo is a melee agility hero who is mostly played as a hard carry. He is considered to be one of the hardest heroes to play as he requires intensive micromanagement in order to be effective. Meepo's main feature lies in his ultimate, Divided We Stand, which passively gives him clones that he can control. These clones have seperate ability cooldowns, and a group of them can do a lot of damage. The drawback to this, and the reason why many find him difficult to play, is that having a clone die kills every other clone, including the main Meepo. Meepo also has a great AoE disable with Earthbind, and multiple Meepos can easily chain Earthbinds on a single enemy. Meepo is also very capable of high magical damage with Poof, which serves as his escape mechanism. Several Meepos using Puff simultaneously can wipe out groups of enemy heroes. Finally, Geostrike is a great attack modifier, but once again becomes stronger with miltiple Meepos as it stacks. Meepo requires more micromanagement than any other hero in the game, often just so he can stay alive. In the hands of a master, he can be an absolute monster, farming multiple lanes at once and swarming enemies with deadly Poof combos.

Abilities

Earthbind

Dota 2 meepo earthbind.png
  • Ability: Target Point
  • Duration: 2
  • Radius: 220
  • Range: 500 / 750 / 1000 / 1250
  • Mana Cost: 100
  • Cooldown: 20 / 16 / 12 / 8

Earthbind makes you throw a net at the targeted area, pinning down any enemy caught by it. Bound enemies can't turn invisible, use blinking abilities and will have channeling spells interrupted. It is a good way to slow down enemies chasing you or being chased by you. Multiple Meepos can throw consecutive nets, which makes it easier to lock down enemies.

Poof

Dota 2 meepo poof.png
  • Ability: Target Unit, Target Point
  • Affects: Self
  • Damage Type: Magical
  • Damage: 80 / 100 / 120 / 140
  • Radius: 375
  • Mana Cost: 80
  • Cooldown: 12 / 10 / 8 / 6

Poof will make you teleport to the targeted Meepo or the closest Meepo near the target point, which can include the teleporting Meepo, dealing damage at the point of departure and arrival. If teleporting to yourself, both the departure and arrival damage will be dealt at the spot you're standing, making it a decent damage nuke. You can use it as an escape mechanism when you have more than one Meepo, letting you warp to safety. You can also use it to move Meepos around the map, such as when you need to take down an enemy. You can also try a difficult but deadly technique that involves having multiple Meepos use Poof on each other at the same time, dealing huge amounts of burst damage in a single spot. It works even better with well-positioned Meepos during a teamfight, which lets you spread the high damage to multiple enemies at once.

Geostrike

Dota 2 meepo geostrike.png
  • Ability: Passive
  • Damage: 7 / 14 / 21 / 28
  • Slow: 5% / 10% / 15% / 20%

Divided We Stand

  • Ability: Passive
  • Number Of Meepos: 1 / 2 / 3

Aghanim's Scepter can be bought by Meepo and will create an additional Meepo as well as enable Meepo clones to share all bonus attributes.
