Golden Sun is the story of a group of teens thrust into a quest to save the world from the plot to unleash the power of Alchemy. It was followed by Golden Sun: The Lost Age, also for the Game Boy Advance.

The main story-line of Golden Sun centres around Isaac's quest to stop a group of thieves from lighting the four elemental lighthouses. Throughout his journey, Isaac meets new friends and gains new powers, making his party stronger. Golden Sun is unique among Game Boy RPGs in that there are complex character histories for every major character in the game and hidden connections between almost everything.
