Health
You'll only start out with 16 hit points, but you can increase your maximum health to 36 hit points by acquiring Heart Tanks. There is also Sub Tanks available to help keep your health high.

Heart Tanks

Heart Tanks are permanent power-ups that increase your maximum health by 2 points. After obtaining all of these you will double your health.
Sub Tanks
- For more details on Sub Tanks, see Mega Man X2/Sub Tanks.
Sub Tanks are permanent power-ups that allow you to fill up a reserve amount of health. To fill these up you must collect health pickups while at full health. You can use the contents of a Sub Tank at any time from the pause menu on the right. However, when used the sub tank will empty while filling your health.
