First of all, remember to refill the Giga Crush! A good spot is early in the Flame Stag's Volcanic Zone.

Central Computer, revisited

Remember that the Bubble Splash is the only weapon that can destroy the Barrier Attackers in one shot.

This is exactly Magnet Centipede's stage revisited, up until the first sub-boss room.

If you missed the Heart or the Sub-Tank when fighting M. Centipede, they can be found now.

Sub-boss: Zero

Neo Sigma

• Weakness: Speed Burner (uncharged)

You will only fight Zero if you missed one or more of the three Zero parts (they could be obtained by defeating all three X-Hunters in the first eight Maverick stages).

The more you move, the more Zero will move and perform different attacks.

The easiest way to fight Zero is to stand still and shoot Speed Burners over and over again, but you will need to use one or two Sub-Tanks. Anyway, uncharged Speed Burner and charged Zero Buster shots cancel out each other.

• Weakness: Sonic Slicer

Sigma has three main attacks, plus one.

1. Sigma will dash across the arena, and if it hits X, the latter will be sent flying across the room. Jump to avoid it.
2. Sigma will often disappear in mid-air, then rematerialize vertically above X and dive on it head (and claws) first. Dodge that attack by dashing across the room.
3. It will surrounds itself with purple enegy spheres that home into X. You can dodge that attack by climbing up a wall and then dropping and jumping.
4. One more attack, unlocked when Sigma is weakaned, is similar to the charged Electric Spark from Mega Man X 1. Dodge it climbing on a wall.

Using the Sonic Slicer, keep shooting, as the bouncing boomerangs will easily get into the way of Sigma.

Sigma Virus

Sigma Virus

• Weakness: Strike Chain

Its energy bar is hidden, but its color is a good indicator of its remaining energy. Sigma Virus starts out green, then goes across the color spectrum from blue to red (pale blue, dark blue, purple, orange, red).

Each "color" of the virus takes about 4 hits from the uncharged Strike Chain and the fully-charged X-Buster, but it is immune to any other special weapon.

Using the Strike Chain, keep hitting the Virus. You know that your attack connected when the background flickers.
