Just before returning to Fuchsia City, go to the lookout station above where the guard stands and talk with the Professor's Aide.  If you have caught more than 50 kinds of Pokémon, he'll give you the [[BP:Experience-affecting_item#Exp._Share|EXP Share]]!  Unlike the [[BP:Experience-affecting_item#Exp._All|EXP All]] in Generation I, this is a hold item, and only the held Pokémon shares the experience with the Pokémon that battled.  This is much less time-consuming and aggravating than having to go through six EXP screens, though.

Note: Trainers Crush Kin Ron & Mya (who battle together) have a Hitmonchan and a Hitmonlee holding a Black Belt item. This held-item boosts Fighting-type moves. Unfortunately, to get it you need to steal it with a Pokémon with an item-stealing move, such as {{bpm|Thief}} or {{bpm|Covet}}. After it levels up a few levels, Snorlax will be a perfect candidate to steal these items!

Route 14[edit]

Route 14

Route 14 appears just as you are leaving the docks by the sea. Most trainers here seem obsessed with Flying Pokémon, although you will also find a couple of ne'er-do-well Bikers as well.

Watch for a Pinap Berry near the twin trainers, and a hidden Zinc in the grass north of the Biker trainers. Continue down this path to access Fuchsia City.

Route 15[edit]

All of the trainers here are very varied, with different strengths and weaknesses. Keep a look out for TM18 Rain Dance in this area.

Professor Oak's Aide[edit]

Inside the Guard Post building on Route 15, east of Fuchsia City, you will find one of Professor Oak's aides upstairs, as usual. If you have owned at least 50 different species of Pokémon, they will reward you with the EXP. Share! Giving this item to a Pokémon allows it to receive half of the experience from every battle without bringing it out. The remaining half is divided between the Pokémon that participated.

This item will come in handy if you want to change your team composition but need to level up the newcomer. Unlike the EXP All in Generation I, this is a held item that only shares the earned experience with the Pokémon holding it, rather than the whole party. Furthermore, having the Pokémon holding the EXP. Share participate in battle is the way to have it earn the most experience points in these games.
