GameCube Controls
Remember that many of the game's actions are context sensitive. That means that the action the A button performs is based on where you are and what you are trying to do. The same goes for the X button.
- D-Pad - Move characters/navigate menus.
- Analog Stick - Move characters/navigate menus.
- C-Stick - Move the camera.
- Start - Pause the game and bring up the pause menu.
- A - Action button (context sensitive).
- B - Cancel/hold down to run.
- Y - Open inventory/menu.
- X - Give commands to Ashley (context sensitive).
- Z - Open map.
- L - Pull out knife (while holding L, press A to use it).
- R - Equip weapon (while holding R, press A to use it).
Now we'll go over some general control tips:
- Pressing DOWN + B will perform a quick 180 degree turn.
- When opening doors, press A once to open the door slowly, or twice to kick open the door.
- You can equip your knife by either holding down the L button (default), or by pressing the L button. You can change this in the Options menu.
