Weapons

Ranged weapons

Arrows are necessary to use the bow and the magic bow; quarrels are necessary for the crossbow. The sling, the halberd and the magic axe require no ammonition. The magic axe can be equipped with a shield.

Note: there's a free magic axe in Jhelom. Get on the city walls, climb down the stairs in the north-eastern tower, open the secret door in the north-eastern corner, walk along the external walls, search inside the tree stump.

Melee weapons

Some of these weapons can be thrown, but in that case they will be lost. Single-handed weapons can be equipped together with a shield or with a different single single-handed weapons.

Bludgeon weapons

The hit rate of these weapons is based on the strength instead of the dexterity.

They weapons are only recommended for characters with either high strenght or whose dexterity is much lower than their strength, i.e. Geoffrey, Sentri and Dupre.

Amulets

  • Ankh: increases the probability that Lord British will appear at night to heal and level-up the Companions; the Avatar starts the game wearing one, and a second one can be found in a secret room in the village of Cove.
  • Spiked collar: increases defense.
  • Amulet of turning: increases protection from some ranged attacks.

Rings

  • Ring of protection: increases defense.
  • Ring of regeneration: gradually restores health, but crumbles with prolonged use.
  • Ring of invisibility: makes wearer invisible, but crumbles with prolonged use.
