Djinn are elemental creatures that were sealed in Mt. Aleph's Sol Sanctum with the Elemental Stars. When the Stars are stolen, all of the Djinn are released. In Golden Sun, there are 28 Djinn total: 7 of each element. Each Djinn has its own special ability when used in battle, and a corresponding set of stat increases when it is set. Some are found in towns, and join without a fight; others hide out in dungeons and on the Overworld map in certain area, and force you to defeat them before they will join. All Djinn available are listed here by element and then in the order they appear.

Note that the singular form is Djinni, and the plural is Djinn. You fight a Djinni, but you summon with four Djinn.

Venus

Flint

  • Type: Venus (Earth)
  • Description: Strike a blow that can cleave stone.
  • Stat Changes (when set): HP +8, PP +4, Attack +3
  • Battles you?: No
  • Location: Met just outside of Vale. Flint is met as part of the main quest.

Granite

  • Type: Venus (Earth)
  • Description: Create a mighty earthen barrier.
  • Stat Changes (when set): HP +9, Defense +2, Agility +2, Luck +1
  • Battles you?: No
  • Location: Granite can be seen in Kolima inside a fenced area. To get to Granite, go behind the adjacent house and walk in to the back of it. You will enter a secret cave. Follow the cave to reach Granite.

Quartz

  • Type: Venus (Earth)
  • Description: Revive a downed ally.
  • Stat Changes (when set): HP +10, PP +3, Agility +3
  • Battles you?: Yes
  • Location: Found after a log puzzle in the Mogall Forest.

Vine

  • Type: Venus (Earth)
  • Description: Tangle foes to drop Agility.
  • Stat Changes (when set): HP +12, PP +4, Defense +3, Luck +1
  • Battles you?: Yes
  • Location: Vine can be found on a little island across the north-western bridge after exiting the Lamakan Desert. Wander around this area until you find Vine in a random battle.

Sap

  • Type: Venus (Earth)
  • Description: Attack a foe and steal HP.
  • Stat Changes (when set): HP +10, Attack +3, Luck +1
  • Battles you?: No
  • Location: Sap is in Vault. After obtaining Reveal, head to the tower with a bell and ring it. Sap will run off. Then go to the area with a dog and some tombstones. Then cast Reveal, allowing you to enter the cave. Go through and on the other side lies Sap.

Ground

  • Type: Venus (Earth)
  • Description: Use gravity to hold a foe.
  • Stat Changes (when set): HP +9, PP +3, Agility +3
  • Battles you?: No
  • Location: Found behind a big landslide in the Kalay Docks (along Silk Road). To reach ground you must first ride across the sea to Tolbi, then walk back around to the docks. Then you will be on the correct side of the landslide to catch Ground.

Bane

  • Type: Venus (Earth)
  • Description: Attack with nature's venom.
  • Stat Changes (when set): HP +12, Attack +4
  • Battles you?: No
  • Location: Bane is in Crossbone Isle, which is accessible from the big pink tornado in the Suhalla Desert. Go through the floors until you reach the sixth floor. Then use Halt to stop Bane from moving and grab him.

Mars

Forge

  • Type: Mars (Fire)
  • Description: Boost party Attack with flame's fury.
  • Stat Changes (when set): HP +10, Attack +2, Agility +2, Luck +2
  • Battles you?: Yes
  • Location: Met in the Goma Cave on a ledge above a man. On the bottom area, you need to move a pillar in to position so that you can jump across to reach it.

Fever

  • Type: Mars (Fire)
  • Description: Wrap a foe in feverish delusion.
  • Stat Changes (when set): HP +8, Attack +3, Agility +2
  • Battles you?: No
  • Location: Found in Imil in the frozen cave. To access the cave, find the snowman. Move him to the left and go down on to the icy area. Move about using the strategically placed rocks to reach the snowman, then go north to reach the cave.

Corona

  • Type: Mars (Fire)
  • Description: Boost party Defense with a heat aura.
  • Stat Changes (when set): HP +12, PP +3, Defense +3, Luck +1
  • Battles you?: Yes
  • Location: Found in a random battle on a round island north of Xian. To find the round island, go north of Xian and find a bridge. Cross it, and wander around in the grass until you find and battle Corona.

Scorch

  • Type: Mars (Fire)
  • Description: Stun a foe with a blast attack.
  • Stat Changes (when set): HP +8, Attack +3
  • Battles you?: No
  • Location: Scorch can be found in the north-eastern part of Kalay. Get on top of the two story house, and jump on to the grass. Then head up, and move the statue to enter a tunnel. Block the water pipe with a status to reach the Djinni.

Ember

  • Type: Mars (Fire)
  • Description: Restore party PP with passion's flames.
  • Stat Changes (when set): HP +9, PP +4, Defense +2, Agility +2
  • Battles you?: No
  • Location: Found in the lowest parts of Tolbi, on the right-hand side of the outskirts. Be careful not to accidentally enter the world map. Get to the vine and cast Growth, then use Frost on the water puddle. Then, simply jump across the ice column, and get Ember.

Flash

  • Type: Mars (Fire)
  • Description: Block damage to party with a firewall.
  • Stat Changes (when set): HP +14, PP +3, Defense +2
  • Battles you?: No
  • Location: Flash is in the Suhalla Desert. As you are moving through, you'll find a ledge. Use Reveal along it until you find a stump. Jump across and you can then easily reach Flash.

Torch

  • Type: Mars (Fire)
  • Description: Penetrate Defense with a melting blast.
  • Stat Changes (when set): HP +9, Attack +3, Luck +1
  • Battles you?: No
  • Location: Torch is found in Lalivero on top of the Inn. Find the weapons and armour shop, and get on to the roof. Jump to the town walls, and follow them around until you reach the end - a house with a guard outside. From this roof, jump to the right. Then climb the plant and collect Torch.

Jupiter

Gust

  • Type: Jupiter (Wind)
  • Description: Attack with mighty wind gusts.
  • Stat Changes (when set): HP +9, Attack +2, Agility +2
  • Battles you?: No
  • Location: Gust can be found in Bilibin. Go to the eastern side of town and climb the stairs. Walk around the fence, and then use Whirlwind to clear the vines and reveal a cave. Move the golden statue forwards out of the way and jump across to reach Gust.

Breeze

  • Type: Jupiter (Wind)
  • Description: Boost party Resistance.
  • Stat Changes (when set): HP +12, PP +5, Defense +2, Luck +1
  • Battles you?: Yes
  • Location: Found in the upper branches, on the outside of the Great Tret Tree.

Zephyr

  • Type: Jupiter (Wind)
  • Description: Boost party Agility with swift wind.
  • Stat Changes (when set): HP +11, PP +3, Agility +2, Luck +1
  • Battles you?: Yes
  • Location: Found in the Fuchin Temple test.

Smog

  • Type: Jupiter (Wind)
  • Description: Veil a foe's vision in smoke.
  • Stat Changes (when set): HP +9, Attack +3
  • Battles you?: No
  • Location: Smog is found in the Lamakan desert. Use Reveal on each stone circle until you find the one that contains Smog in the centre.

Kite

  • Type: Jupiter (Wind)
  • Description: Attack twice next round.
  • Stat Changes (when set): HP +8, PP +4, Agility +3
  • Battles you?: No
  • Location: Found in Vale behind the broken fence. Use the Lift psynergy to move the rock, and proceed in to the small cave. Find the treasure chest containing the Halt Gem, and use the Halt psynergy to freeze the Djinni and catch it.

Squall

  • Type: Jupiter (Wind)
  • Description: Paralyze a foe with a storm.
  • Stat Changes (when set): HP +10, Attack +5
  • Battles you?: Yes
  • Location: Go to Altmiller Cave. Find your way through the cave until you find some fallen pillars and a Jupiter Djinni, Squall. Push the pillar on the left all the way over to the right, then push the bottom pillar all of the way upwards. Use Frost on the puddle and push the pillar on the right across until it hits the new column of ice. Push the second pillar from the top down until it hits the frozen ice column as well. Then walk around the room until you reach the top pillar, push it down, then you can finally claim Squall.

Luff

  • Type: Jupiter (Wind)
  • Description: Seal a foe's Psynergy.
  • Stat Changes (when set): HP +11, PP +5, Defense +2, Luck +1
  • Battles you?: No
  • Location: At the entrance to the Babi Lighthouse, there are two ladders that go underground. Go down the left hand one and move the pillar. Then go back up, and go down the ladder on the right, and move the pillar out of the way. Jump to get outside, then use Growth on the plant. Head through the doorway and jump down the slide to reach Luff, the last Jupiter Djinni.

Mercury

Fizz

  • Type: Mercury (Water)
  • Description: Restore HP with calming water.
  • Stat Changes (when set): HP +9, PP +4, Defense +3
  • Battles you?: N/A
  • Location: Mia already has this Djinni when she joins your party.

Sleet

  • Type: Mercury (Water)
  • Description: Drench a foe to drop its Attack.
  • Stat Changes (when set): HP +12, Attack +3, Luck +1
  • Battles you?: Yes
  • Location: Found in the Mercury Lighthouse behind a waterfall. In Mercury Lighthouse, there is a room with six waterfalls. Simply walk in to each one until you find the one that contains Sleet.

Mist

  • Type: Mercury (Water)
  • Description: Lull a foe into deep sleep.
  • Stat Changes (when set): HP +11, Attack +4
  • Battles you?: No
  • Location: Found in Xian. To reach Mist, first find the girl who is carrying water. Look at the Djinni and the ledges to find the correct spot, then talk to her. She will drop her water. Use Frost on the water and then you can simply jump across.

Spritz

  • Type: Mercury (Water)
  • Description: Restore party HP with soothing mist.
  • Stat Changes (when set): HP +8, PP +4, Agility +3
  • Battles you?: Yes
  • Location: To find Spritz, you must first defeat the three water spewing beasts in Altin Peak, then enter the bottom mine. Take the path to the right, and solve a mine cart puzzle to reach the Djinni.

Hail

  • Type: Mercury (Water)
  • Description: Freeze a foe to drop its Defense.
  • Stat Changes (when set): HP +9, Attack +4, Luck +1
  • Battles you?: Yes
  • Location: To find Hail, leave Tolbi and head west until you come to a bridge. Cross it, then head northwest and cross another bridge. Run around this area for a while, and the Djinni Hail will eventually attack you in a random battle.

Dew

  • Type: Mercury (Water)
  • Description: Revive a downed ally.
  • Stat Changes (when set): HP +13, PP +4, Agility +4
  • Battles you?: Yes
  • Location: Go through the Suhalla Gate until you reach the third section. Find the slides, and take the third slide (from the left). From here, it is trivial to get Dew.

Tonic

  • Type: Mercury (Water)
  • Description: Heal all party ailments.
  • Stat Changes (when set): HP +8, PP +3, Defense +2, Luck +2
  • Battles you?: No
  • Location: Tonic is in the Lunpa Fortress. After defeating Toadonpa, visit Donpa. He will give you the last Mercury Djinni.
