Garo's Mask
If you have not done so already, you must head to the horse ranch and race the Gorman brothers.
Ikana Valley
Ikana Canyon is the land of the dead, where unrestful spirits head.
To proceed to the canyon, you need to use Epona to jump over two fences, equip Garo's Mask and approach the cliff. When you do, a tree will appear which you can hook shot. Dodge boulders and the enemies to reach the canyon.
When wearing Garo's mask, you will be given hints on how to proceed through this section, as well as the situation.
The canyon is blocked by a river. To cross it, freeze the two octopods and jump across them. Hookshot to the two trees, and to skip repeating the tasks in the future, strike the owl statue just behind the final tree.
Ikana Graveyard
In front of the giant skeletion, play the sonata of awakening and run up after the giant skeletion. The skeletion runs quickly, and you won't be able to catch up on it through speed alone. Find a way to slow it down, such as using fire arrows to help stun it. If you defeat him, you can get the Captain's Hat.
