This shield is vital to completing DOdongo's Cavern (because your Deku shield will burn.) It can be bought at the Bazaar in Hyruls Castle Town or Retrieved for free from Kakariko Graveyard at night (pull back the tombstone with flowers and jump in.) As an adult you are stronger and can wield it in front of you to deflect attacks. It is the only adult shield until the mirror shield is retrieved.
  • Mirror Shield
This magical shield can reflect some light and magical spells as well as shield from attacks just like the Hylian Shield. It's retrieved and used in the Spirit Temple.

Items

These are items that are equipped to the C slots and can be used with the flick of your thumb. Mainly they are items that you retriveve from dungeons but there are a few others in there.

  • Deku Stick
A stick obtained from certain monsters or chests. Use these sticks as weapons or to light torches in dungeons. Can be purchased in stores.
  • Deku Nut
Throw a deku nut to produce a flash of light that stuns nearby enemies. Can be purchased in stores.
  • Deku Seed
Use these small seeds as ammunition for the slingshot. Can be purchased in stores.
  • Arrow
These provide ammunition for the bow. Arrow upgrades (Ice, Fire, Light) can be found in Lake Hylia, Gerudo Fortress, and Ganon's Castle respectively. Can be purchased in stores
  • Bomb Bag (Bombs)
They're bombs and they blow up. You originally get the bomb bag from the dodongo caverns. Once you have the bomb bag you can use bombs all the time. You use them as both adult and child.
  • Bombchus
This is a moving bomb that resembles a mouse. Once set down, it goes straight in the direction it is facing, even up walls. After a period of time or if it runs into something, it blows up. These can be purchased at night in the Castle Town Alley or from the flying merchant in the Haunted Wasteland.
  • Megaton Hammer
This weapon is incredibly potent. It is obtained from the Fire Temple and packs a wallop. Not only can this weapon be used to massacre foes, it will actually cause a shockwave when it slams on the ground. Any nearby enemies will be damaged and stunned. It is also employed to smash certain rocks.
  • Hookshot
This weapon allows you to latch onto something and pull yourself toward it. You find this in Dampe's grave and can upgrade its reach (becomes the Longshot) in the Water Temple.
  • Lens of Truth
This nifty item allows you to see normally invisible enemies and even peer through fake walls! The downside to this is that it constantly drains your magic power. This item is found in the Kakariko Well and is used during the Shadow Temple quest.
  • Din's Fire
A jewel recieved by a Great Fairy, Din's Fire consumes magic when used. It creates a wall of fire around you that spreads out and can severely damage, if not kill, most enemies.
  • Farore's Wind
You may recieve this from a Great Fairy. Farore's Wind allows you to create a warp point, which consumes magic, and warp back to that one point any time you wish. The warp point disappears after you warp back to it.
  • Nayru's Love
This jewel uses twice the magic as Din's Fire or Farore's Wind, but it protects you from recieving damage for a period of time. Again, you recieve this from a Great Fairy.
  • Magic Beans
You purchase these from the chubby fellow in front of the Zora River gate as a child. When you plant these into dirt patches, a sprout will appear. As an adult, you can ride the plants that now sit there to reach new heights.

Projectiles

  • Fairy Slingshot
A small slingshot used by Kokiri children. It's retrieved in the Deku Tree. It switches Link into first person and shoots Deku nuts with great accuracy. The Fairy Slingshot can only be used as a child.
  • Boomerang
This item is a boomerang. It's the second projectile you get as a child and it can help you retrieve far away items (like skulluta tokens). You get it in Jabbu Jabbu's Belly and use it inside. It is only usable as a child, but it is a very versatile weapon although its range is limited and it can kill only certain opponents. It can be used to stun most foes as well.
  • Bow
The Bow is a classic staple of fantasy games. It's essencially the adult slingshot. The Bow is retrieved in the Forest Temple by Adult Link and is used througout adulthood. This weapon will prove to be one of Link's greatest assets. The bow will eventually gain the power to shoot fire arrows, ice arrows, or light arrows when certain conditions are satisfied. Young Link cannot use the bow. (NOTE: The bow is the only item that Link can use on Epona.)
