Enix, most famous for its incredibly popular Dragon Quest series, merged with Square on April 1, 2003. Series developed or published by Enix include: Soul Blazer, Star Ocean, and ActRaiser among others.
Enix is also a manga publisher in Japan, with series licensed and distributed in North America by other publishers such as Viz or Tokyopop. It isn't uncommon for Enix to handle the creation of its own manga interpretations of some of their games. Star Ocean has received several serialized manga treatments over the years. Their most noteworthy original title is generally considered to be Full Metal Alchemist.
