The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time/Ocarina Songs

There are many songs that you can play on the ocarina. Some of these are needed for the game, but it is possible to play other songs as well.

Playing Songs

To play ocarina songs, select the C button it is equipped to. Then, use and to play notes. Holding makes the note sharp, and holding makes the note flat. gradually raises the note to its next higher note, and dips it to the next lower one. or makes your note have a vibrating effect.

Note: you must learn these in the game in order for their effects to work.

Zelda's Lullaby

Use anytime you see the Zelda family crest. For example, when this song is played while standing on the TriForce-shaped crest in the Kakariko Graveyard, the Royal Tomb will open, allowing passage inside. Playing this song on the crest at the end of the Zora's River will reveal the entrance to Zora's Domain.

Epona's Song

Use in Hyrule Field to call Epona to your side (does not work before Link is turned to an Adult). Also, playing the song near a cow will earn you a bottle full of free milk (assuming you have an empty bottle).

Saria's Song

Use anywhere to talk to Saria. Saria will give you a very basic clue as far as where you should proceed next. For example, after obtaining the Red Stone from the Gorons, the only way of knowing to visit the Zoras for the remaining Blue Stone is to talk to Saria.

Sun's Song

Use outside to change between day and night. This song also freezes ReDeads.

Song of Time

Use to get into Temple of Time or manipulate a blue block in some areas.

Song of Storms

Use to make it temporarily rain.

Minuet of Forest

Use to warp to Forest Temple.

Bolero of Fire

Use to warp to Fire Temple.

Serenade of Water

Use to warp to Water Temple.

Requiem of Spirit

Use to warp to Spirit Temple.

Nocturne of Shadow

Use to warp to Shadow Temple.

Prelude of Light

Use to warp to Temple of Time.

Scarecrow's Song

Causes a scarecrow to grow that can be helpful in you quest.

This song is how you want it to be. Talk to the scarecrow at Lake Hylia and play a song eight notes long. This song can be changed at anytime and it is the only song that will not be recorded with the others.

Fun Songs

These are songs that don't really have any effect on the game, but are fun to play when you want to wind down.

Kakariko Village Theme

This is the theme for Kakariko Village (A "+" means do these simultaneously)
