Location:  Throughout the mall.

This weapon can be used like a grenade. Throw it and all zombies within a 10ft radius will die. Should always try to have one of these with you at all times in case of emergency.
Some zombies are being controlled by a queen; when you kill them, they will release this small flying insect. The queen can then be collected in a glass jar (Frank will produce one automatically, you don't have to have any in your inventory) and used like a grenade. Throw it and all zombies within a 10ft radius will die. Should always try to have one of these with you at all times in case of emergency.

The easiest way to find queens is by listening out for a high-pitched buzzing, or looking for a zombie standing still, looking up with its arms clawing slowly above its head.

It is very powerful and kills zombies as easily as the Katana. It is slow but has a very large range for killing multiple Zombies in less swings. It breaks after mild usage.

Bench

Bench

Location: Around the mall

Lasts: 25 hits

The bench is an excellent ramming weapon. Frank West picks up the bench by the end and charges towards the enemy like a battering ram, knocking over a large number of enemies and causing moderate damage.

Bicycle

The Bicycle is a great way to travel throughout the mall, but knocking into zombies with the bike can cause you to fall of it. It is found in the entrance plaza. The bike can run of several zombies, but you will have to get back on it a number of times

Boomerang

Boomerang

Chainsaw, small (Adam the clown)

Chainsaw, small

Location: Near the controls for the Space Ride Rollercoaster in Wonderland Plaza

Lasts: 100 hits

If Adam the clown disappointed his family with his choice of career, he didn't disappoint us with his choice of weaponry. His mini chainsaws do maximum damage against other psychopaths and slice limbs like butter. This is the strongest weapon in the game(aside from the unlockable rmb). It also lasts longer. This item is respawnable in the same area. This item is one of the only ones that can be strengthened three times as much (When picking up three types of magazines. They are the Entertainment magazine, the Engineering Magazine, and the Criminal Biography Magazine. With these three in effect the player can kill 2,700 zombies).

A weapon very similar to gems and CDs. Can be thrown individually at one zombie at a time. Sometimes ricochets off of one zombie to peg another. Caution: Do not open pop can after being thrown. Results can be, well, sticky.

Dumbbell

dumbell

It is used very similarly to the Bowling Ball. The difference is that you cannot throw it like a bowling ball. Found in the Fitness Area in the Al Fresca Plaza.

Excavator

Excavator

Location: On one of the catwalks in North Plaza, Crislip’s Home Saloon in North Plaza

Lasts: 100%

Frying Pan

Frying pan
Hot frying pan

Location: Jill’s Sandwiches in Paradise Plaza, Colombian Roastmasters in Paradise Plaza, Colombian Roastmasters in Al Fresca Plaza

Lasts: 30 hits

The frying pan is used to club enemies.

Frank is a wizard in the kitchen, whipping up delicious smoothies with ease. When zombies get too close, however, Frank likes to grab a frying pan for a decent, face-smashing melee weapon. Also, put it on the stove, heat it up, and use it to melt off zombie faces for a one-hit kill.

Garbage Can

Garbage Can

Location: Throughout the mall

Lasts: 20 hits

If thrown it will reveal more weapons hidden inside, usually hunting knives and pistols

Gems

Gems

Location: Josh’s Jewels in Paradise Plaza, Marriage Makers in Paradise Plaza

Lasts: 10 gems

Found in jewelry stores and can be thrown with high power. It is almost impossible to kill a zombie with gems before you reach level 35 (or so) but they are still fun to throw. Smash the glass, snatch them and run

Golf Club

golf club

Location: From survivor Jeff on the rooftop at the very beginning of the game, Second floor of Sportrance in Paradise Plaza

Lasts: 30 golf balls

The golf club comes with some golf balls. Frank hits one, and a golf ball hits a targeted foe. The attacks can be powered up by depressing the attack button. This can be found in the sporting stores.

Gumball Machine

Gumball machine
Gumball machine

Location: In front of the Cinema Shop in Colby’s Movieland, Paradise Plaza, inside of Cinema 1 in Colby’s Movieland, Paradise Plaza, playgrounds in Wonderland Plaza

Lasts: 25 hits

It's the candy that makes this weapon so hilarious. It works just like any other heavy object in Dead Rising, but it's filled with happy colored gumballs to add that extra bit of humiliation you need to bestow upon your zombie victims. When thrown and smashed the gumballs will make the poor zombies lose their balance and fall over (and over and over). This makes it a great weapon if you want to escape or if you want a hilarious picture (extra PP)

Guitar

Location: TuneMakers in Paradise Plaza

Lasts: 40 hits

This musical instrument brings two things: rock and pain. Make Frank wield this weapon and he'll swing around the guitar, which can cause some massive damage to a zombie. When swung, it can clear a large area in front of Frank, but unfortunately he needs a second or two to recover after whacking some zombies.

Note: There are four types of guitars: Bass, Acoustic and 2 Electric. Acoustic seems to cause more damage, while Electric is a bit faster, because its recovery time is about half of the Acoustic's.

Handbag

Handbag

Location: Lady About Town in Paradise Plaza; Fanfare Fashion and Contemporary Purses in Wonderland Plaza; Gromin's, J.F. Nichols, Kathy's Boutique, Ladies' Space, and Refined Class in Entrance Plaza; Brand New U in Al Fresca Plaza

Lasts: 20 hits

Hand gun

hand gun

Location: From zombie police around the mall, Huntin’ Shack in Entrance Plaza, garbage cans around the mall

Lasts: 30 rounds

The Handgun is the first firearm you get in the game (That is if the player missed getting the Entrance plaza shotgun in the beginning of the game). It doesn't have much stopping power and has 30 shots. It is useful for taking out single Zombies or Early bosses. It is found in many places. They can be found in the "Huntin Shack", in Garbage Cans, and a majority of the police zombies carry guns which they drop if attacked (Although it is not necessary to kill them. You only have to hit them, or bump into them).

Heavy Machine Gun
Dead Rising heavy machine gun.jpg

Lasts: 200 rounds

This M2 Browning machine gun is mounted on the back of a Military Humvee, stolen by escaped Convicts. It is possible for Frank to pry the weapon from the vehicle and use it himself, although it is so big it cannot be stored in the inventory and movement is restricted. It contains 200 rounds.

Lasts: 20 hits

Hockey Stick

Hockey Stick

Location: ShootingStar Sporting Goods in Entrance Plaza

Lasts: 30 hockey pucks

Hunk of Meat

Hunk of Meat

Location: All around the mall

Lasts: 3 hits

When you see a zombie eating a hand, kick him and pick it up as he drops it. Now you can jam it into his mouth and prevent him from biting you. It is a VERY weak weapon but fun to watch.

Hunting Knife

Hunting Knife

Location: Ripper’s Blade in North Plaza, yellow-shirted zombies around the mall, in garbage cans

Lasts: 30 hits

The Hunting Knife is used with highly effective swipes. The weapon is effective, but with short 'killing distance', leaving Frank prone to being surrounded. These are common items found easily in every area. They are most commonly found in the hands of yellow Trench Coat zombies (Formerly Cultists) or on the living members of same.

Katana

katana

Location: Ripper’s Blade in North Plaza, in Cardboard boxes, Ned’s Knickknackery (Entrance Plaza), On top of the orange ledge below Colombian Roastmasters in Paradise Plaza.

Lasts: 20 hits

This weapon is found in the "Paradise" Plaza or in the Antiques shop. For the "paradise" plaza, you find it by jumping off the ledge near the Orange Juice stand in the Food Court of the Plaza. (Columbian Roastmasters) It is a very quick and effective weapon. It breaks quickly. Although this breaks quickly it always respawns in the same place and is one of the most effective weapons in the game. Be sure to have this in the boss fights. You'll want some guns too for head shots.

King Salmon

Fish

Location: Swimming in the Leisure Park pond, Seafood in Seon’s Food and Stuff, North Plaza

Lasts: 2 hits

A big salmon fish

Laser Sword

Location: Unlocked by getting the 5-Day Survivor Achievement in “Infinite Mode”. Appears in the security room after Frank survives 5 days.

Lasts: 300 hits

Laser Sword Toy

Toy swords

Location: Child’s Play and Ye Olde Toybox in Paradise Plaza, Children's Castle in Entrance Plaza

Lasts: 50 hits

If you have the Toy Laser Sword in Frank's inventory it lightens the way for Frank. Frank doesn't even have to have it equipped as his weapon he is using at the time, it will illuminate anyway.

Lawn Mower

Lawn mower

Location: Near the entrance to the Food Court in Leisure Park, Crislip’s Home Saloon in North Plaza

Lasts: 75 hits

Grab this lawn utility out in the courtyard and go to town. Zombies are slow and stupid enough to just stand around while you mow them to a bloody pulp. You can either slowly drive it over them or you may pick it up and shove it onto there head to make an explosion of blood, awesome. As a bonus, you're adding some fertilizer to the grass to make sure it grows tall and green. Now you can save yourself and the environment.

When the lawnmower stalls, Frank can pick up the lawnmower. This allows Frank to carry the lawnmower into the mall.

Lead pipe

Lead pipe

Location: Warehouse floor, Crislip’s Home Saloon in North Plaza, McHandy’s Hardware in Al Fresca Plaza, Several places in North Plaza, in Cardboard boxes

Lasts: 20 hits

The lead pipe is fairly slow but deadly. It kills in one blow and is therefore very similar to the 2X4. When thrown, the pipe acts like a spear, skewering the zombie and causing it's blood to flow out from the pipe like it is a faucet.

Lipstick Prop

lipstick prop

Location: Beautification Kiosk in Wonderland Plaza, Estelle’s Fine-Lady Cosmetics in Entrance Plaza

Lasts: 34 hits

Machine gun

Location: From Special Forces around the mall, from one of the three survivors in Huntin’ Shack, North Plaza.

Lasts: 150 rounds

Weapons used by the Special Forces that have been sent to clear out the mall. It contains 150 rounds. The assault rifle is easily the best firearm in the game, and really one of the better weapons over all. Its magazine contains 150 rounds which is more than any other gun and it only takes one burst of three or four rounds to kill a zombie and roughly 30 rounds to kill one of the Special Forces soldiers. However, you shouldn't try to use this weapon against the Special Forces soldiers if you are on the same level as them as their fire will stun you and make it hard for you to shoot back. The easiest way to kill them is to rush one with a powerful weapon like the battle ax, katana etc, kill him, take his rifle, then climb ontop of something high enough that they cannot return fire and shoot the reinforcements as they arrive; for example, the Lego building with the SMG atop it in Wonderland Plaza works well for this, as do the tops of the shelves in the warehouse. There is an acheivement for not missing with an assault rifle, which is easily done by shooting all of the bullets into a carcass in the meat processing room.

Location: Unlocked by getting the "Zombie Genocider" Achievement (Where you must kill 53,594 Zombies). Appears in the security room.

Lasts: 300 rounds

The real Mega Buster is the most powerful weapon in the game. It is unlocked after doing the "Zombie Genocider" Achievement (Where you must kill 53,594 Zombies), beating the game, and saving. It is found in the same room as all the other unlockable clothing and items are, lying on the ground. It can easily take care of bosses and enemies. It has 300 shots, and every time the player runs out of bullets it respawns in the same area.

A medium-sized weapon that Frank holds with two hands. Usually kills zombies, but can just knock them over. Can be also thrown for a lot of damage. Breaks quickly, compared to other heavier weapons.

Propane Tank

Propane Tank
Propane Tank Cart

Location: McHandy’s Hardware in Al Fresca Plaza; on top of the shelves in the Warehouse; lying next to the shelter in Leisure Park; lying to the left of the elevator on the rooftop; Cinema 5 in Colby’s Movieland, Paradise Plaza. The large propone tank is pushed by a zombie.

Lasts: 20 hits (small), 30 hits (big)

This weapon is probably the most explosive in the game. Not meant to be picked up and used as a physical weapon, since it is incredibly slow, and does little damage. Meant to be picked up and moved around, then placed or thrown into an advantageous spot, where you can then whip out a gun and shoot the tank, causing it to explode, causing massive damage in a large radius. Excessive physical attacks and the bullets of the Special Forces may cause the tank to explode, so take caution of lunging zombies.

Shotgun

Shotgun

Location: Huntin Shack in North Plaza, Survivor Kindell in the North Plaza (Case 4-2, Girl Hunting), At the beginning of the game, Brian's corpse near the fountain in Entrance Plaza

Lasts: 20 rounds

The Shotgun is a powerful gun. When shoot it can take out several enemies. But as it is powerful at close range, it is considerably weaker if shooting at enemies from afar. The Shotgun is one of the best guns to have around as it can take out many zombies easily making it useful in escaping or clearing a path.

The shotgun can also be found at the start of the game in the middle of a large group of zombies eating from one of the corpses near the center of the Entrance Plaza, just after the mall gets overrun and the mission is to get up the stairs to safety. It appears to be a standard Civilian/Police Issue Shotgun, most likely a Remington 870.

Showerhead

Shower head

Location: Crislip’s Home Saloon in North Plaza, cardboard boxes, especially in the warehouse

Lasts: 10 hits

When you first see the showerhead on the ground, you may pass it up for a lead pipe or a baseball bat. You'd be missing out on one of the greatest death animations in the game. Slam this baby onto a zombie's noggin and watch the blood spout out.

As it turns out, the Grim Reaper's tool is great for use against the undead as well as the living. No self-respecting zombie killer would go without this long reaching weapon. Grab a zombie by the head and pull them in for the kill or just swing it around and take off some legs, either way you're going to end up with fantastic results.

Skateboard

Location: SporTrance in Paradise Plaza, ShootingStar Sporting Goods in Entrance Plaza

Lasts: 3 hits

Who knew that a skateboard had the power of a car? I didn't! The skateboard is a simple weapon/tool, just jump on and ride around. It's great for getting out of a crowd, or if you have to get around quickly. It's relatively fast, and usually it's a one-hit kill if you run head-on with a zombie. It doesn't run out quickly when you're riding, but if you're mowing down zombies you can kill about 3 (unless you have the 3 books which in that case you can hit about 81 zombies before the board breaks).

Sniper Rifle

Sniper rifle

Location: Huntin’ Shack in North Plaza, from the sniper psychopaths Jack, Roger and Thomas in Entrance Plaza (Day 2)

Lasts: 30 rounds

The Sniper Rifle is a useful weapon for taking out bosses. Like most Sniper Rifles the gun is good at long distances. Although the gun is preferred for bosses rather than Zombies. The reason being that zombies are quite easy to kill with any weapon, whereas the Sniper Rifle only shoots one bullet at a time. It is not useful for clearing crowds of zombies thus it is often best to save the snipers for the bosses that need many strong hits to take down. Max of 30 bullets
