For the most part, getting the best weapon is a matter of buying the one at the most recent city, but sometimes, you can get a better one for free with a little exploring or hard work. Materia growth is another important factor in weapon choice.

Note: Sale price is half of cost - so a listed cost does not necessarily mean you can buy the weapon anywhere. All weapons are listed in order of attack power, from least to greatest.

This is Tifa's ultimate weapon. To get it, go to Bone Village and order a search for normal treasure. The treasure is near the black patch on the top platform. You will receive "Key to sector 5". Go back to Midgar and the door is unlocked. Go all the way to Wall Market and go to the house with the signboard "ITEM". Go up to the screen and press Enter . You will get Premium Heart. Remember to put Cid in your party so he can fix the machine.
