There is a plethora of items to be collected in Final Fantasy VII. This page contains lists of regular items and key items.

Regular items[edit | edit source]

These are the items that you see in your inventory. They can be used in battle, from the menu, and some can even be used in the field. A few of the easier ways get these items are listed, however, other methods may also exist. Weapons, Armor, and Accessories are not included in this section, although they are kept in the same inventory.

The selling price of any item is exactly half of its purchasing price.

Healing items[edit | edit source]

These items can generally be used both in and out of battles.

These items can generally be used only out of battles.

Chocobo greens and nuts[edit | edit source]

Greens have three uses: (1) learning an enemy skill; (2) capturing a chocobo; (3) upgrading a chocobo for a race. The three greens best suited for each of such tasks are highlighted in the table below.

The Chocobo Sage can be reached only after the heroes obtained the Highwind.

Nuts are used to breed chocobos. Chocobo breeding can be done only after the heroes obtained the Highwind. Actually, carob nuts and zeio nuts are the only ones that are needed.

These items are sorted according to game progression. Each manual can be used on the corresponding character only, and only after the character learned all the previous six limit breaks. There is no manual for Cait Sith.

Key items[edit | edit source]

Key items are ones that can't be used by the player directly, although they often allow Cloud to interact with his environment in important ways. They generally progress the storyline, or point the player in the right direction. Some events depend on a choice of which key items you have (i.e. Corneo's mansion).

PHS Able to call your party members from long distance. Kalm; received after Cloud's flashback. This enables the menu option to switch out your party members on the world map or at save points.
Battery Looks like it can start some sort of machine. Purchase for 100 Gil from weapons shop owner in Wall Market. Need at least two to reach Shinra Headquarters for the first time.

Wig Wig made from messed up hair. Wall Market, Big Bro's Gym. Consolation prize for losing the squat contest. The lowest quality wig Cloud can wear for Don Corneo. Cloud will not be picked if he is wearing this. A wig is necessary for him to get into the mansion.
Dyed Wig A dyed wig. Wall Market, Big Bro's Gym. Receive for a tie in the squat contest. The middle quality of three wigs that Cloud can wear. Cloud will not be picked if he is wearing this. A wig is necessary to get him into Don Corneo's mansion.
Blonde Wig A blonde wig. Wall Market, Big Bro's Gym. Reward for winning the squat contest. This is the nicest of the three wigs Cloud can wear for Don Corneo. A wig is necessary to get him into the mansion.
Glass Tiara A glass tiara. Wall Market, Materia Shop (from shopkeeper). Reward for buying the 50 gil item from the hotel vending machine. The lowest quality tiara Cloud can wear for Don Corneo. Cloud will not be picked if he is wearing this.
Ruby Tiara A ruby tiara Wall Market, Materia Shop (from shopkeeper). Reward for buying the 100 gil item from the hotel vending machine. The middle quality of three tiaras Cloud can wear to make himself more attractive to Don Corneo.
Diamond Tiara A diamond tiara. Wall Market, Materia Shop (from shopkeeper). Reward for buying the 200 gil item from the hotel vending machine. The nicest accessory that Cloud can wear to make himself more attractive to Don Corneo.
Pharmacy Coupon A coupon for a free item from the pharmacy. Wall Market, Diner. Order some food and say it was all right. Use this coupon to get medicine at the pharmacy for the woman hogging the bathroom at the bar.
Cologne Cheap perfume. Wall Market, Bar. Reward for giving disinfectant to the woman in the bathroom. The lowest quality perfume you can get for Cloud. Cloud will not be picked if he is wearing this.
Flower Cologne Flower scented perfume. Wall Market, Bar. Reward for giving deodorant to the woman in the bathroom. The middle quality of three perfumes that Cloud can wear for Don Corneo. Cloud will not be picked if he is wearing this.
Sexy Cologne A perfume that amorously arouses. Wall Market, Bar (woman in bathroom). Reward for getting her a digestive with a pharmacy coupon. The nicest perfume Cloud can wear for Don Corneo. Perfume makes him more attractive to the Don.
Member's Card Membership card to the Honeybee Inn. Wall Market, southern section. Talk to the guy walking in circles in the bottom right corner after you've picked out a dress. Gets you into the Honeybee Inn.
Bikini Briefs Tight-fitting briefs. Wall Market, Honeybee Inn, Group Room. Underwear that makes Cloud more attractive to Don Corneo.
Lingerie Perfumed underwear. Wall Market, Honeybee Inn, &$#% Room. Make sure you talk to the hostess before she runs off! Underwear Cloud can wear that makes him more attractive to Don Corneo.

Shinra headquarters mission[edit | edit source]

Keycard 60 Allows you to go as far as the 60th floor in the Shinra Bldg. Shinra Bldg, 59th floor (Cloud automatically picks it up after beating the guards at the elevator). Lets you get to the 60th floor of the Shinra Bldg.
Keycard 62 Allows you to go as far as the 62nd floor of the Shinra Bldg. Shinra Bldg, 61st floor. Guy walking around near the stairwell will give it to you if you don't talk about Aeris. You can get to the 62nd floor on the glass elevators.
Keycard 65 Allows you to go as far as the 65th floor of the Shinra Bldg. Shinra Bldg, 62nd floor. Mayor Domino will give it to you if you can guess his password from the clues in the library. You can get up to the 65th floor on the glass elevators.
Keycard 66 Allows you to go as far as the 66th floor of the Shinra Bldg. Shinra Bldg, 65th floor. Completing the Midgar parts puzzle on the 65th floor unlocks the chest containing this keycard. You can get up the to 66th floor on the glass elevators.
Keycard 68 Allows you to go as far as the 68th floor of the Shinra Bldg. Shinra Bldg, 67th floor. Talk to Hojo's lab assistant after defeating Sample: HO512. You can get up to the 68th floor on the glass elevators.
Midgar Parts Part of the Midgar city model Shinra Bldg, 65th floor; found in chests. You can only hold one set of them at a time, and the chests containing them will unlock in a specific order. Put the parts into their corresponding places in the city model on the 65th floor to finally unlock a chest containing Keycard 66.
