There is a plethora of items to be collected in Final Fantasy VII. This page contains lists of regular items and key items.
Regular items[edit | edit source]
These are the items that you see in your inventory. They can be used in battle, from the menu, and some can even be used in the field. A few of the easier ways get these items are listed, however, other methods may also exist. Weapons, Armor, and Accessories are not included in this section, although they are kept in the same inventory.
The selling price of any item is exactly half of its purchasing price.
Healing items[edit | edit source]
These items can generally be used both in and out of battles.

Chocobo greens and nuts[edit | edit source]
Greens have three uses: (1) learning an enemy skill; (2) capturing a chocobo; (3) upgrading a chocobo for a race. The three greens best suited for each of such tasks are highlighted in the table below.
The Chocobo Sage can be reached only after the heroes obtained the Highwind.

Nuts are used to breed chocobos. Chocobo breeding can be done only after the heroes obtained the Highwind. Actually, carob nuts and zeio nuts are the only ones that are needed.

Key items[edit | edit source]
Key items are ones that can't be used by the player directly, although they often allow Cloud to interact with his environment in important ways. They generally progress the storyline, or point the player in the right direction. Some events depend on a choice of which key items you have (i.e. Corneo's mansion).
