To play Ice Hockey, you need to run around on the ice. All you need to do to hit the puck is run into it. Try to hit it into your goal and stop it going into your opponents! You can even try hitting the puck so it bounces off the wall and into your goal; just don't score an own-goal!

During the game you will probably see animals which have escaped from the Zoo. You can talk to them to play a Minigame.

Once you have beaten the animal at that minigame, you unlock the minigame in the minigames menu. From here you can play against a selected character (you can choose the breed) or against an opponent with a second remote in multiplayer mode.

Once you have finished your request from Kenneth, the owner of the Zoo in South Pawville, to help fix the Zoo, the animals will start appearing in most areas outside the village. Once you have beaten them, you can go to the Zoo and talk to the animals there to play minigames with them.

The bear in Whisker Woods has a minigame for you, although it doesn't count as he wants you to catch a Brook Trout. Simply catch one at the fishing pier. If you have a Brook Trout before you speak to him, he won't take it, as he wants a fresh Brook Trout.

Flag Race

File:Petz Dogz 2 Flag Race.JPG
In a Flag Race, you need to go through the coloured flags and the finishing line before your opponent.

When you find the escaped Boar in the east of Jade Fields, he will challenge you to a Flag Race. You need to beat him to win.

There are three different tracks you can run; the first has three flags in it, and the other two have four.

In a Flag Race, you need to run to the flags in order and then across the finishing line. Flag one is always red, flag two is blue, three is orange, four is purple. A coloured arrow will appear at the bottom of the screen and point you in the right direction, but that doesn't mean you can run in a straight line. There are cliffs that may stand in your way. You can jump across small gaps by running to the edge of them, but try not to go into the sand or you'll slow down! Also, try not to run into rocks, as you'll bump into them. When you have gone through all the flags (in order), you need to run across the finishing line before your opponent!

Rodeo

A vulture just across the second bridge in Jade Fields wants to challenge you to a Rodeo battle. To win you have to get to the finish in under 2 minutes.

You will be riding vulture-back for this minigame. You will fly towards the end, but meanwhile the vulture will try and shake you off! An arrow will appear on the screen, and you need to move Remote button in the direction of it. Try not to point in another direction first or it will count that as a miss. If you don't get your vulture back under control, you will slow down, which means it will take you longer to reach the end. The bar at the bottom of the screen indicates how close you are. Getting the vulture back under control makes you go faster, and as you get closer to the end the vulture will try and shake you off more often. Luckily, you can't actually fall off!

Treasure Hunt

Coin Points
Bronze 10
Silver 20
Gold 30
Stack 50

A kiwi on the large square sandy area in the southeast of Whisker Woods wants to challenge you to a Treasure Hunt contest! To win, you need to get more points than him.

The Treasure Hunt is like Sniffing or using Whiskers Radar to find normal items, except the coins you are looking for will always be a question mark on the icons at the bottom so you don't know which one you're trailing. When you have found a coin, dig it up like any other item. Depending on which one you dug up, the more points you'll get. The game is over when time is up.

Sledge Pull

An elephant in the south of Dolphin Coast will challenge you to a Sledge Pull battle. To win, you must cross the finishing line before him.

To move your character, flick Remote button down when the bar at the bottom of the screen is in either the red or yellow zones. It moves quickly and if you misjudge your timing, you might only move a few centemetres. If you flick the remote in the yellow centre, you will move at an "average" speed; do it in the red area and you will move quickly. You can also change the direction of your character by pressing B button.

Barrel Roll

A Panda in the North West of Sky Heights wants to challenge you to a Barrel Roll. To win, you need to get across the finishing line before him.

To play barrel roll you need to use B button as if you were moving normally, exept you are on top of a large barrel. You need to try and stay as close to the top of it as possible. The closer you are, the faster you'll go. A good way to try and stay on top is to move in short bursts towards the top of the barrel. There will be an arrow showing you which way you need to move. If you move too far either way, you'll fall off! So, try and get all the way to the finishing line before your opponent and you'll have won!

Chicken Race

A Buffalo in the East of Lonesome Park wants to challenge you to a Chicken Race. To win you must get higher points than him.

Despite the name, a Chicken Race has nothing to do with chickens. At the start of your turn, your character will start to run along the path, gradually getting faster. You need to press A button to stop running, and your character will slide along the ground. Try to make them stop in the scoring zone; this can be difficult. If they're too far away when they start to slide they won't get to the scoring zone; too close and they'll slide right off the edge and fall in the water! You only get one try per game so try and get a good score!

Curling

A penguin in the Polar Fields will challenge you to a curling match. You need to get more points than him to win.

By using B button you can move your character left and right, and then you need to press A button to start charging your shot. Press A button again to slide across the arena. Try and get as close to the fifty point zone as possible, or at least somewhere in the scoring zone. The game ends when both players have had three shots.

Some Wii versions have problems with this minigame, where you are not able to charge your shot, but can move left and right.

Ice Hockey

A lion in the South of Gongoro Peak wants to challenge you to an Ice Hockey match. To win you must score more goals than him.

To play Ice Hockey, you need to run around on the ice. All you need to do to hit the puck is run into it. Try to hit it into your goal and stop it going into your opponents! You can even try hitting the puck so it bounces off the wall and into your goal; just don't score an own-goal!

Fruit Catch

Fruit Points
Banana 10
Apple 20
Melon 30

A Gorilla in the centre of Monolith Isle wants to challenge you to a Fruit Catch game. To win, you must get 300 points or more.

A Gorilla will be sitting on a platform high above the circular arena, and will be throwing fruit down. You need to touch the fruit to catch it; but before it hits the ground. If playing this game from the minigames menu there will be another dog or cat running around the arena. The game ends when time runs out.

Dodgeball

A cheeky Monkey on the southwest island in Lappy Lake wants to play dodgeball with you. To win, you need to hit him more times than he hits you!

At the beginning of the game, both players have three balls. Press A button to throw one at your opponent. The balls can curve slightly to hit them. But to do this you must throw them in the direction of the other player. You get ten points for every hit. After you have used up all your balls, go to the corner of the arena and press A button to load up again. You can carry up to five balls at a time. The game ends when the time runs out, and the player with the most points is the winner.

Ring Toss

In Tail Heights there is a little round area past a snake in the west of the area. Here, there is a Giraffe wanting to challenge you to a Ring Toss battle. You need to get 150 points or more to win.

The goal of this minigame is to throw as many hoops as possible over the giraffe's neck. Do this by pressing A button. Whilst you are doing this, the giraffe will also be moving from side to side, so you need to time your shot carefully. You can move left and right by using B button and pointing the icon in the right direction. Occasionally, the giraffe will stop for a few seconds, giving you a chance to get an accurate shot. When it does this, you can get two or three hoops on. As the minigame progresses, the giraffe will start to move faster and faster. The game is over when the time runs out.
