Path to Onett

Experience Points
It is possible to gain levels by means of experience points. Experience points are awarded to each participant in a won battle. The amount of experience points awarded to you and your allies add up depending on the number of enemies fought. Remember, should one or everyone in your group run out of HP, they will not be awarded experience points.

Once a certain milestone of experience points is reached, your level will increase. The more battles won, the stronger you become!

After leaving Pokey's house, the sun will arise and a new day will begin! You don't have to go back to your house, but do anyway. The cameraman will take a picture of this moment for later. Before heading for Onett, try increasing your level by walking around the hill and battling animals. Coil Snakes, Runaway Dogs, and Spiteful Crows will provide a lot of experience points and butt kicking needed early in the game. Being at level 3 or 4 would be recommended before going to Onett. But before you do, visit Lier X, your neighbor? He'll lead you to a giant statue. Ignore that now, it will be important later.

Begin going down south, on your way to central Onett.

Just before you enter central Onett you will see the library. Go inside and talk to the woman. She'll give you the town map.

Central Onett

TOWN MAP A handy town map. It can be used in Onett, as well as other towns. You can view the map quickly, simply by pressing the X button. Head south to the drugstore. Withdraw $130 from the ATM and buy a Tee Ball Bat and Cheap Bracelet.

CHEAP BRACELET ($98) DEFENSE GOES UP BY 5

Now go north and east. There's a clubhouse there, and the kid inside will give you a Mr. Baseball Cap! (To find out how to get in, consult the map.

Go to the Burger Shop and buy 5 hamburgers (if you don't have enough money, just buy as many as you can). Now head south toward the arcade. There are lots of Sharks here. At Level 4, fight them one at a time. At Level 5, fight various sharks at once. Try to fight Pogo Punks more, they drop hamburgers. At Level 7 go into the arcade.
Once inside, fight the sharks on the first floor (and the one on the second). Fight the Yes Man Jr. blocking the back door to get to Frank. If your at level 8, Frank will be a piece of cake. Use PSI Special α and he'll fall. Immediately after, you fight Frankystein Mark II. PSI Special α. Keep your HP above 45 for both battles.
