===Village of the Ancients===
===Village of the Ancients===

Revision as of 23:17, 16 April 2017

A friend in Canaan suggested that the Warriors of Light visit King Argass, but when their ship lands there, they found the castle completely empty. Meanwhile, the city of Tokkul is being raided by mysterious brigands, who come from a flying castle, but the Warriors of Light cannot get to that fortress either. The only thing left to do is to cross the desert and visit the Village of the Ancients, who probably know something about the Light Crystals.

The Ancients are quite disappointing, instead: they tell you how the Light Crystals were threatening the World and four Warriors of Darkness turned them off. But you're the Warriors of Light: are they trying to persuade you give up the video game? One little thread starts from their village, though: someone suggests to visit the Gulgans in their home valley.

Before the dungeon

Inner Sea

Complete Bestiary
If you want to complete the Bestiary List, then be sure to hunt all five sea monsters asyou can travel the seas only for a while.

You can go back to Castle Sasune and start the Fix Sara's Pendant Quest or finish the Save the Children Quest if you are level are 13 or higher. There are several places that you can visit but, you should start with Tokkul. Go west the coast along to find Tokkul.

Looting

From Nepto Temple, sail North-west until you come to a peninsula, disembark and head a very short distance West to find Castle Argus

Looting Castle Argus

Enter the castle and you'll find that it's empty...may as well grab some loot! Go inside and head all the way upstairs.

Once on the top floor if you need to heal or revive head out the south door, otherwise go to the weapon rack north east of the round table, then through the wall just south of it for two chests (Antartic Wind and Bomb Fragment). head east between the chests(through another secret wall) to find another chest (Artic Wind).

There is another secret passage, but there is nothing useful in it at this point so we'll come back to it later.

Since you couldn't meet the King of Argus, head to Tokkul.

Looting Tokkul

From Castle Argus follow the coast southwest until you come to the village of Tokkul

Enter the village and search a tree in the northwest corner of town (Lamia Scale). South of the tree is a searchable crate (Great Bow) and southeast of that crate is another crate (Bacchus's Cider). Go east and seach along the tree line for another bit of loot (Ice Staff).

Enter the north-most house and walk into fireplace for two chests and a searchable vase (Serpent Sword, Kenpo Gi and Sonic Knuckles).

Once you've stuffed your pockets, exit Tokkul and Trek west on foot until you come to a shoreline, follow that south and then west across a fairly narrow strip of land to arrive at a forest, a little further west and you'll find the village of the ancients!

Village of the Ancients

Map of the floating continent, visible using either the "Sight" spell or a Gnomish bread (NES version).

Go upstairs twice and go left, then north to talk with the child. He will give you a prize (Gnomish Bread), if you run around the floating continent with a chocobo and then return to him. Check the white flower (Serpent Sword) north of the well near the Inn.

Exit the village and go east until yo've come across a forest with a circle of grass. That is the Chocobo Woods. Enter it and you can get a Chocobo and run around without getting into random encounter. Run once with a Chocobo around the continent to claim a prize in the village.

Buy some Maiden's Kiss, since you'll need them soon, and maybe a Light Staff, with which a White Mage can cast Thunder. Go back to Ship and sail northwest of Nepto Temple until you've across a castle. Walk northwest from the castle for a bit until you come across a mountain range and take the lower path to reach the Gulgan Gulch.

Gulgan Gulch

Go on and go downstairs and talk with the man in the middle. He will give you the spell Toad which is needed in Tower of Owen, where you'll go next. He also tell that Desch's destiny lies in the tower. Go south through a secret passage to three chests (Fire rod, Ice rod and Mage Robe).

Tower of Owen

Tower of Owen

The tower is north of Castle Argus. On the first floor go around to a small room and turn your party into toads and enter the room. One floor higher turn your party back and continue west to floor 3. On half way you will hear a eerie voice who welcomes you here. On floor 3 go west of a chest (Echo Herbs) to next floor. Nothing here, so Go to floor 5. On floor you will hear a laughter from the eerie voice again. check the chests (Spark Dagger) and continue to next floor.

The eerie voice tell you on floor 6 that you'll never find the way to the place. Check the north nische to make a wall disappear. Check the chests (Echo Herbs) west of the stairs and go upstairs twice. Go right to find 2 chests (Echo Herbs and Bomb Fragment), then go left to next floor.

Go west, north, then east to find a chest (Sonic Knuckles). Go west and west again to the last floor before the boss. On this floor are 3 chests (Salamand Sword, Flame Mail and Zeus's Wrath).

BOSS: Medusa

Level 17 HP: 3,000 Weakness: - Gil: 2,600 Exp: 1,680
NES version

A team of mages would be best against Medusa, but other authors suggest the opposite. Start casting the highest level spells, then continue with lower levels after you used up the most powerful ones. Let your physical attackers simply keep attacking (it's pretty much the only thing they can do).
