On December 13, 2010, Square Enix announced remakes for Final Fantasy IV and Final Fantasy IV: The After Years combined into one game for the PlayStation Portable. There is also a new playable plot element which explains the gap between Final Fantasy IV and Final Fantasy IV: The After Years.
