Ryo Sakazaki (リョウ・サカザキ) is a practitioner of Kyokuganryu Karate and one of the main characters of the Art of Fighting and King of Fighters games. He is the son of Takuma Sakazaki, brother of Yuri Sakazaki and the best friend of Robert Garcia.
Story (in the Fatal Fury Series)
Ryo Sakazaki (リョウ・サカザキ) is the hero of SNK's fighting series Art of Fighting. He is one of SNK's most popular characters with appearances in most of the companys recent fighting games like The King of Fighters, SNK vs. Capcom and NeoGeo Battle Coliseum (as the second Mr. Karate).
He appears as a secret boss character in Fatal Fury Special, but can also be selected as a player character directly after he has been defeated (please refer to the secrets section for more information).
Unlike the appearance of Geese Howard in Art of Fighting 2, his fight is considered a Dreammatch and not part of the Fatal Fury/Art of Fighting canon. It is rumored that the popularity of his appearance in Fatal Fury Special led to the creation of the King of Fighters-series.
