==Courtroom Lobby==
Apollo is evidently worried about the trial, telling himself that he is "fine". Athena speculates that the pressure of the trial is getting to him and demands Apollo to "get it together". She tells him that she has researched Prosecutor Nahyuta Sahdmadhi, saying that he apparently can "accurately read a trial's karma and ultimate fate".

In other words, he can foresee how the arguments will go, and can thus lead the opposition. She also hopes that Ema's talk with him regarding Trucy went well. Apollo reminds himself that the fate of both Trucy and the Wright Anything Agency rest on this trial, thinking that if there was ever a time to shine, it's now.

==Trial begins==

Prosecutor Sahdmadhi is delayed in affirming his preparation for the trial, as he was praying for the victim. He confirms that he is a monk from Khura'in (after being asked by the Judge), and requests in advance for the patience and forgiveness of the court, as he is unfamiliar with American court proceedings. He then gives the opening statement. He says that the incident took place during a magic show, and that the defendant (Trucy) performed a magic trick in which she thrust a sword into a coffin; the very coffin the victim's body fell out of, killed by a stab wound. He reveals that the victim's real name was Manov Mistree, and that blood was found on a sword used during the magic trick. The '''Autopsy Report''' is added into the Court Record.

Prosecutor Sahdmadhi presents his argument that the incident was a murder made to look like an accident, perpetrated by Trucy. Apollo maintains that Trucy is innocent, reasoning this because he believes in her. Sahdmadhi does not think highly of this reasoning however, saying that it is a clear demonstration of Apollo being a lawyer "of putrid mind". He exclaims "Satorha!" and recites a chant, attempting to awaken Apollo from his "fruitless slumber".He then says that Apollo will not be punished in the Twilight Realm if he admits Trucy's guilt now, otherwise, both will be cast into the "pit of hell".

The first witness is brought in; it's Detective Skye, who's obviously reluctant to testify against Trucy, and is eating Snackoos in front of the judge! Remember this scene from Apollo Justice Ace Attorney? It's not a good start but at least it's a funny one. Sahdmadhi claims that Trucy had a motive to kill the victim. Ema explains that Mr. Reus was kicked out of Troupe Gramarye 13 years ago after he was deemed unskilled. Sahdmadhi then explains that Mr. Reus vowed to get revenge on the troupe someday. ==Ema's Testimony: The Defendant's Motive==

Prosecutor Sahdmadhi proposes that by the time the defendant realized what the victim was about to do, it was too late. The only way to stop him from doing so was to murder. Not only that, but Bonny de Famme even testified to the police that just before the show started, the victim said "I'm going to reveal all of Troup Gramarye's secrets on stage today!" Well that certainly doesn't help.

==The Defendant's Motive: Cross Examination==
'''Press''' the '''fifth statement'''. Apollo will ask what their reasoning is. Ema says she doesn't know and will start eating Snackoos again. So you ask Prosecutor Sahdmadhi instead. He will say it's the "luminous tape" in the understate passage. It had been moved. He says that Trucy moved the tape during the show to mislead the victim into climbing up the wrong ladder. Apollo asks for proof, and Ema says that she found Trucy's fingerprints on it. A new statement will be added to Ema's testimony:

* The defendant's prints were on the tape. I guess she must've moved it during the show.

'''Present''' the '''Fingerprinting Results''' on that '''new statement'''.
Apollo says that it's impossible for Trucy to have moved the tape during the show. Her fingerprints weren't found on the coffin, but they were found on the tape. However Trucy wears gloves when she performs, so she couldn't have moved the tape! She must've moved it before the show, so she didn't move it to mislead the victim! Even without evidence, the victim still used the tape as a guide, and still climbed into the coffin where Trucy thrusted her sword into, Prosecutor Sahdmadhi says. So instead of murder, it was involuntary manslaughter!

When asked if you think it's accidental, or murder, choose '''Murder'''. Apollo says that a third party must've done it! When asked for evidence, Apollo says that he must address a question first. How did a dead body wind up in the coffin if Trucy used a rubber sword? The judge will now ask you that question. Choose '''He was killed understage'''. Apollo thinks that the victim was already dead before Trucy's act! Prosecutor Sahdmadhi will respond by throwing his bracelet at you. It will then tighten, making Apollo scream in pain. Prosecutor Sahdmadhi says that Trucy killed the victim understage, then brought him into the coffin. All to make it seem like an accident! Athena interrupts by asking how Trucy, a young girl, would be able to carry a dead body! Prosecutor Sahdmadhi says that he prepared a witness just for this moment! This witness turns out to be Bonny de Famme!

Then she settles down, while Prosecutor Sahdmadhi talks about Khura'inism punishments. Then the judge decides that the witness's testimony was correct, and that Trucy was the only one who could've done it. Apollo's in a jam, but then Athena swoops in with her excellent idea of using "analytical psychology"! Time to break out Widget! Athena proposes a quick therapy session for the witness. Bonny breaks out of her calm personality yet again, but then cools down and shows everyone her rabbit trick. The judge agrees, but Prosecutor Sahdmadhi wants to know more about this. He asks how emotions are evidence, and the judge supports us by explaining how helpful it has been. Finally, Prosecutor Sahdmadhi agrees. Athena then asks Apollo to do it instead. When asked for a refresher or not, it doesn't matter which one you choose.

On the '''sixth statement''', where she's talking about how she feels bad, the '''happy''' emotion is reacting. That doesn't sound right, pinpoint it. Apollo points out that Bonny is feeling happiness even though she's supposed to be feeling sadness. Apollo then says that he knows why Bonny was feeling happy. Select '''You messed Trucy up''', when given the chance. Bonny counterattacks this by asking why would she be happy about messing Trucy up if she's a big fan of her. But it's no use, since Apollo caught her showing her true nature! Bonny's noise level then drops to 50%.

Bonny keeps on trying to reject Apollo's statement, before breaking down. She opens her umbrella, before pulling it backwards and revealing her true self. Her hair, forms into bat wings and her eyes turn yellow! Is that a vampire?! The judge accuses your therapy session of making the witness go completely insane. Bonny then reveals that she saw Trucy move the stage lifts. Apollo thinks that something is off about that statement and asks Athena to update the Mood Matrix with this new info. At this point, you have to present evidence that conflicts with the new statements that has been added.

On the '''fifth statement''', '''present Trucy's Statement'''. Apollo states that what Bonny just said doesn't make sense. According to what Trucy's Statement, she told no one about this. Apollo then proposes that Bonny SAW Trucy move the stage lifts. Her noise level now drops to 0%. The judge says that Bonny would have been under the stage then, where the victim was killed. Apollo then says that Bonny is now considered a suspect! Not only that, but Bonny has a motive to frame Trucy as well! However, Prosecutor Sahdmadhi ruins this perfect moment with an objection. He says that you can clearly see Bonny in the TV Footage onstage. So the only one left, is the accused, Trucy Wright! Oh no! Now we're back to square number one. Apollo then asks how Bonny could've seen Trucy move the stage lifts. Prosecutor Sahdmadhi responds with, "She told Bonny, then forgot about it".

Athena and Apollo then discuss, and the only explanation that makes sense was that Bonny was in 2 places at once. However, the judge thinks your claim is absurd. When asked for your reasoning, choose '''There were two Bonnys'''. Prosecutor Sahdmadhi and the judge both think that Apollo has lost his mind. Apollo then explains his claim. Prosecutor Sahdmadhi still doesn't believe a thing, but at least you have the judge sort of convinced. So if there were two Bonnys, the Bonny here at the witness stand must be Bonny #2, Apollo says. When asked for evidence, present the '''Fingerprinting Results'''. During the investigation, a set of unknown fingerprints were found at the top of the coffin. Apollo says that these fingerprints belong to none other than, Bonny #2.

Prosecutor Sahdmadhi says that these prints could've been left at any time. But Apollo says that if we check the prints, they're sure to match Bonny #2! The judge asks the witness if this is true and she admits that those fingerprints belong to her! But she isn't Bonny #2, but in fact Betty de Famme! Then she performs a show with Bonny, before meeting up at the witness stand. Betty then reveals to be Bonny's twin sister!? So that's the key to their teleportation trick... '''Fingerprints Results updated in the court record'''. So while Bonny was onstage, Betty was in the understage passage. Which leaves her the opportunity of killing Mr. Reus! However, Betty decides to testify to the court. I wonder what she has to say?

Well that was a very...interesting testimony. Before the cross-examination, Bonny and Betty perform a "floating trick". But then Apollo presumably spoils the fun by pointing out how to do it.

==What Happened Understage: Cross Examination==
'''Present''' the '''Fire Bucket''' on the '''third statement'''. Apollo points out that in the script, the fire trick Mr. Reus was supposed to do was dangerous, so they had to "prepare the fire bucket". However, one look at the fire bucket will tell you that it hasn't been touched in a while. There's even some dust inside! So, Betty didn't even try to prepare for the next trick. Then Bonny starts to say something, before Betty shuts her up. Well, if neither of them are going to speak, Apollo will! The reason Betty didn't even bother to prepare was because she... '''knew the show wouldn't go on'''. Prosecutor Sahdmadhi however doesn't believe you because we have no evidence. Athena then tries to reason with Betty, asking her to tell us what she's hiding. But of course, she refuses and insults everyone in court.

However, Prosecutor Sahdmadhi interrupts. He proposes that Betty knew the show wasn't going to continue, not because she murdered him, but for some other reason. Apollo asks about this reason. Prosecutor Sahdmadhi thinks that everything was planned out. He then finally gets Bonny and Betty to admit that they knew everything that was going to happen... by Take-2 Advance!? They then reveal, that Mr. Reus was supposed to act dead when Trucy opened up the coffin. But then... why and how is he dead?

Bonny and Betty proceed to tell how they did the prank. Afterwards, they hand over the prank plan script they were supposed to follow. '''Prank Plan Script added to the Court Record'''. Then, they show a video of Mr. Reus moments before going into the coffin. So this means... the victim was NOT killed before being placed into the coffin. Prosecutor Sahdmadhi then closes it off by saying it was an accidental murder, caused by none other than Trucy herself! Prosecutor Sahdmadhi pulls out a note telling Bonny to bring out the camera used for Mr. Reus's video. The note bears Trucy Wright's signature, but she states she's never seen this note, much less written it. '''Trucy's Note added to the Court Record'''.

Prosecutor Sahdmadhi says this is clear evidence that Trucy Wright had prior knowledge of the prank and used it to her advantage to kill Mr. Reus. Since Trucy can't explain the note, the judge begins to hand down the verdict of guilty.

Apollo objects without prompt. He has evidence to prove that the sword wasn't what killed Mr. Reus. '''Present''' the '''Sword Stand'''. Apollo claims that after the set piece fell down, someone swapped the rubber sword with the steel sword — meaning someone framed Trucy. Also, when Prosecutor Sahdmadhi claims that the blood in the coffin means he was stabbed, Apollo counterattacks by saying that someone could easily have planted the blood there after the set piece fell. Prosecutor Sahdmadhi argues with Apollo for a bit, before the judge decides that Trucy should give her testimony. '''Crime Photo updated in the Court Record'''. The judge calls for a fifteen-minute recess.

==Courtroom Lobby==
Athena, Apollo, and Trucy chat for a bit, before Roger Retinz appears. He brings out a camera and starts to record them. Athena threatens to tell the bailiff if he continues, and it disappears from Roger's hands! Then he says he invited some of Trucy's fans to watch from the gallery. He then leaves. Trucy then remarks that what Roger did was high-level, meaning he has lots of skill in the art of magic. All of a sudden, Bonny appears. She wants to tell something that has been bothering her, but Betty intercepts. Both of them leave, shortly afterwards. Then, Apollo and Trucy practice saying, "I'm fine!". 

==Trial continues==
The Judge asks Trucy to head to the witness stand. The gallery yells out rude claims, before the Judge tries to calm them down. The gallery say to give Trucy the death penalty. The Judge then demands silence from the gallery. The Judge then asks her to testify about how she switched the steel sword for a rubber sword. Trucy suggest that instead of testifying with words, she can perform it with actions.

==Trucy's Testimony: The Stupendous Sword Switch==

The gallery no longer insults her and is instead impressed! The Judge asks Trucy how she does it, and she explains. She says that when she switches the swords, she puts the steel sword backstage. Then, Apollo notices something. An inconsistency. She asks Trucy if the part where she spun around was part of the trick. And indeed, it is.

==The Stupendous Sword Switch: Cross Examination==
'''Present''' the '''Show Footage''' on the '''fifth statement'''. Apollo notices that what Trucy just performed was a bit different than what was shown in the show footage. In the footage, the part where she twirled her cape around is missing. Which means...she didn't perform the part where she switched the swords. Prosecutor Sahdmadhi uses this to his advantage and says this makes Trucy look even MORE guilty. Nothing good looks for Apollo & Athena, and the Judge is about to hand down the verdict. BUT all of a sudden Bonny interrupts. Bonny starts explaining that Trucy couldn't have possibly murder someone, and of course, Betty stops her from saying anything else. However this time, Bonny doesn't listen to her because she was so inspired by how brave Trucy was. Bonny says that what was shown on TV looked slightly different than what was onstage. She thinks that the footage might have been edited. Apollo then takes out the TV footage to examine it. Bonny also has some footage, so Apollo decides to compare that to the one shown on TV.

===Comparing The Footage===
In '''Bonny's footage''', '''pause when you see cards flying towards Bonny''', and '''point at the cards'''. Apollo says that you can see the playing cards in Bonny's footage, but NOT the one shown on TV! Apollo then asks Trucy about these cards. Trucy says that those were the cards she throws when performing her sword-swapping trick! This means that the TV footage was edited to cut out the part when Trucy switches the steel sword for a rubber sword. Apollo thinks someone did this with malicious intent. Prosecutor Sahdmadhi thinks this is absurd, but the Judge tells the Bailiff to head to the TV station to see if they have the unedited version. However, Roger Retinz disagrees. Roger claims that this is all just a big misunderstanding. Roger then shows them the unedited footage. You can clearly see Trucy swapping swords, so Apollo says that Trucy couldn't have killed Mr. Reus. However, Roger intercepts and says that Trucy could've killed him after the set piece fell down! Roger also says that there was a suspicious-looking shadow that appears right after the set piece fell. Roger claims that shadow belongs to Trucy as she kills Mr. Reus with the steel sword. However, Apollo counterattacks that and also brings up the fact that he purposely edited out the sword-switching trick. Roger says that this is the second misunderstanding and decides to testify about it.

Go to the second video, then watch and slow down when you see Bonny from behind. After a couple of frames, you should see the cards in the video. Move the cursor and select the card in the middle of the screen to continue the trial.

==Retinz's Testimony: It Wasn't Deliberate, I Tell You==

Roger fights back, saying Apollo doesn't know anything about editing footage. So Apollo decides to give proof. '''Present''' the '''Clipboard'''. Apollo thinks that Roger conned Trucy into signing the contract. When the Judge asks how Roger did it, Apollo says that inside, there is carbon paper. It can be used to secretly copy one's signature onto other documents. Roger says that he had nothing to do with it, and the Judge asks him to add this new statement into his testimony:

'''Present Trucy's Note''' on '''this statement'''. Apollo compares the signature on the note to the one on the contract. And sure enough, they are EXACTLY the same! Roger admits to doing this, but he says he did it for the money. He also says he has no ill bearing with the witness. When Apollo asks himself what's Roger's connection with Trucy is, '''select''' '''Retinz is a magician too'''.

===Retinz Is A Magician?===
Apollo claims that Roger is a magician. However, the Judge and Prosecutor Sahdmadhi disagree. Apollo then realizes that there is a magician that holds a grudge against Troupe Gramayre. When asked for evidence, '''present''' the '''Thirteen-Year-Old Poster'''. Mr. Reus used to be part of Troupe Gramayre, but he was kicked out. Ever since, he vowed for revenge. And Apollo claims that Mr. Reus pinned the murder on Trucy. The Judge doesn't believe you since Mr. Reus is supposed to be the VICTIM in this case. But is he really dead? Apollo claims that the performer on stage WASN'T Mr. Reus and the real Mr. Reus is still alive. When asked who is Mr. Reus, '''choose Roger Retinz'''. Apollo then tells that if they look at a certain spot on the Thirteen-Year-Old Poster, they can figure out the truth. '''Point to the scar on Mr. Reus's arm'''. That scar is the cause of the injury Mr. Reus sustained after making a mistake while performing magic. However in the video, he has NO signs of the scar. Apollo then asks Roger to roll up his sleeve to prove that HE is the REAL Mr. Reus! And when he does...you can clearly see a scar on his arm that matches the one Mr. Reus had.

Well then if Roger is Mr. Reus...who is the man who pretended to be him? Roger (or Mr. Reus) said that it was a fan of Troupe Gramayre. He told him his true identity and let him take his place. Roger taught him his tricks and even acted as his producer. Apollo then accuses him of killing him and then pinning the blame on Trucy. However, he has a tight alibi. The Judge then agrees to him testifying about it.

==Retinz's Testimony: My Perfect Alibi==

They are all just spectators inside of Mr. Reus's illusion. Apollo rethinks the case and then tells the Judge that we've been taking a key assumption for granted this whole time: '''the culprit was on-scene'''. Apollo believes that Mr. Reus killed the man without actually being there at the crime scene. Prosecutor Sahdmadhi tries to fight back, claiming the shadow they saw clearly belongs to the culprit. But Apollo thinks differently. He thinks the shadow belongs to someone else.

The Judge asks you to point out what caused this shadow in the show footage. '''Pause''' at the part when '''Mr. Hat disappears in a puff of smoke''' and '''point at the shadow on the wall'''. (This may be tricky) The first shadow belongs to Mr. Hat, says Trucy. However, the second shadow doesn't belong to Mr. Hat. To spell it out, go frame by frame until you see a shadow moving up on the left side of the coffin. This is for the people who are new to this game.

===The Second Shadow===

The Judge asks what belongs to the second shadow. '''Present''' the '''crime photo'''. Apollo says that the second shadow belongs to the magician who pretend to be Mr. Reus. According to the prank plan script, he was supposed to pretend to be dead, then rise into the air. Since the victim was wearing a stunt harness, this seems to be true. The Judge then asks why they would make the victim fly into the air. '''Select''' the second option — '''To murder him'''. Apollo explains the pulley system and how, if the culprit planted the real murder weapon in the cushioning of the catwalk, the victim would be pulled into it. Using this method, the murderer could be anywhere at the time of death.

Betty reveals she, too, was swindled, as she was told to release the set piece so that Trucy would panic, not knowing that would cause the victim's death. Afterwards, Mr. Retinz swapped the rubber sword for the steel sword, as well as lowered the victim's body onto the stage behind the set piece after the audience fled.

Prosecutor Sahdmadhi interrupts, claiming there is no evidence to back the allegations, which makes Trucy still the prime suspect. The Judge asks the Defense if they have any evidence, triggering Apollo's revisualization sequence.

===Proving Mr. Reus Is The Murderer===
Apollo claims that Mr. Reus swapped the coffin sides. And because of his actions, he left something very odd. '''Present''' the '''Fingerprinting Results'''. When Apollo dusted for fingerprints, they looked very unnatural. That's because they were facing the wrong direction! The culprit put blood in the left hole, thinking that's where Trucy would thrust the sword into. But because of Bonny's mistake, Trucy ended up thrusting her sword into the right hole! The culprit realized what happened and tried to cover it up by switching the left and the right panels of the coffin! The Judge asks why the culprit couldn't have just wiped away the blood. But luminol testing can easily trace blood, even after it has been wiped away. Prosecutor Sahdmadhi says that Apollo has no proof that it was the witness who did it. But Apollo said that the culprit couldn't have made the mistake of putting blood in the left hole if they were part of the magic show! The culprit knew how the show was SUPPOSED to go, but didn't actually go and see it themself, leading to the mistake of putting blood in the left hole instead of the right. The culprit also had to have the chance of tampering with the crime scene. And the one who matches that description perfectly...is ROGER RETINZ!

==What ''really'' happened==
It all started with an injury 13 years ago. Mr. Reus, or Roger Retinz, accidentally burned himself during a magic trick involving fire, leading Magnifi Gramarye to kick him out of the show because he was deemed too untalented. However, Mr. Reus still showed up to the show. This made Magnifi have to completely oust him from Troupe Gramarye, which in turn, caused Retinz harbor a grudge against Troupe Gramarye.

Years later, Retinz, now a producer at Take-2 TV called the Ratings Rajah, met a fan named Manov Mistree, who became a magician because of Mr. Reus. Retinz revealed his identity to him and they soon started training, with Mistree becoming the next Mr. Reus (unknown to the public).

Some time later, Trucy Wright, the last living Gramarye, gets her own show featuring Mistree, as well as twin magicians Bonny and Betty De Famme. Betty's existence was kept a secret, however, as her hiding was essential to their teleportation trick. Since Retinz had been in charge, he formed a prank with the twins and Mistree. During the second act where Trucy swaps her sword after trading places with The Amazing Mr. Hat via trap door and stabs the coffin, Mr. Reus would play dead, falling out and lying there. Then a giant dragon prop would fall down and after a bit, Mistree would reveal he wasn't dead and fly away.

Unknown to the other magicians, Retinz had an ulterior motive. He had a sword planted on the mattress where Mistree would be flown into, killing him. Meanwhile, he was in another place, making sure his alibi was as secure as possible. He was seen by numerous people, being his crew, audience, and even a taxi driver. This lead to Trucy being framed for it. He also made a few video cuts during editing, cutting out the part where Trucy swaps the metal sword she had with a rubber sword.

Retinz also had another trick in place. Just before the show, Trucy was appoached by a Take-2 TV member to sign a seemingly innocent contract. However, this contract had a special type of paper in it which would absorb the writing and print it on documents. This trick was used for fabricating evidence of Trucy's knowledge of the prank as well as a contract stating that if the second party (Trucy) is in fault of the show's cancelling, they must pay three million dollars in compensation to the first party (Retinz). With Trucy's "signature", this gave Retinz the authority to either take three million dollars or, if Trucy didn't have that much (which she doesn't), the entire Wright Anything Agency's office, thus making Trucy's guilty verdict mean the end of the entire agency.
