The Roost is a café run by a pigeon called Brewster. In Animal Crossing: Wild World, The Roost was found in the basement of the Museum and on Saturday evenings you could find K.K. Slider playing music. However in Animal Crossing: New Leaf, The Roost is built as a separate building via the Public Works Projects at the Town Hall. It only becomes available to build one week after the Museum has been upgraded with a second floor. Blathers will appear deep in thought and mention to the player about Brewster and the café.
You can buy a cup of coffee each day at The Roost for 200 Bells. After six days of purchasing coffee, Brewster will start to become more friendly and will eventually offer the player a part-time job serving coffee.
Visitors
Often, special characters will visit the café to relax and can be found sitting on a stool at the counter. This is a good opportunity to talk with the characters outside of their working roles.

Working in the Café
You can work in the café between 11am and 11pm (on non-holiday days) by talking to Brewster at the counter on the right side next to the till. Serving coffee is basically a mini-game where you have to work out what combination of beans, milk and sugar each customer would prefer. The happier your customers are the better the reward Brewster will give you for helping out. He pays in coffee beans, which can be sold for various amounts depending on the quality. You can also get furniture from the Café Series to display in your home.
