Return to Oblivion introduction

Fighter's Guild

Fighter's Guild

Overview

Don't like sneaking around and stealing from people, but you still need to make a living? The Fighter's guild is the perfect place. With numerous heroic quests that pay as well as a life of crime you could easily become wealthy while following the rules.

Tenets

Every guild has tenets that you must follow. The Fighter's Guild tenets are as follows:

Tenet 1: Do not steal from any guild member. Tenet 2: Do not kill any guild member.

Tenet 3: Do not assault any guild member. I'm not sure if they expell you for this one or if you just get in trouble with the guards.

Getting Back In

So you broke the rules and now the fighters are mad at you eh? Well the adventurers will let you back in if you prove to them you really want it.

  • First explusion you need to collect 20 bear pelts, any bear will do and a few vendors even sell them. Once you have them give them to Vilena Donton in Chorrol
  • Second expulsion you need 20 minotaur horns. This one is quite a bit harder as you have to kill the minotaurs yourself and they're pretty rare.
  • Third expulsion and you're out for good. No forgiveness you better reload an old save file.

Joining

To join the Fighters Guild your Infamy must be below 100. Speak to Azzan at the Anvil Fighters Guild, Burz gro-Khash at the Cheydinhal Fighters Guild or Vilena Donton at the Chorrol Fighters Guild. Even though there are Fighters Guilds in every city except Imperial City you can only join and get quests in Anvil, Cheydinhal and Chorrol.

Quests

Most fighters guild quests entail being assigned a problem and talking to everyone involved and finding a solution. Some are more basic go kill the bad guys though.

Azzan Quests

Azzan is the guy in Anvil who will assign you about a quarter of your quests. You'll often find yourself going back and forth between him and Gro-Khash so if he won't give you a quest try Gro-Khash.

A Rat Problem

Go to Arvena Thelas' house northwest of the Anvil Fighters Guild and speak with her about Rats. She will send you down to her basement to discover what is killing her pets. Kill the mountain lion in her basement and speak to her again.

She will then send you to find Pinarus Inventius who lives nearby but may be out hunting, the compass will point to his current location. Pinarus will take you northwest of Anvil to kill four mountain lions, once they are dead return to Arvena and speak with her. Return to the basement and kill another mountain lion and then speak with Arvena again.

Arvena believes her neighbor Quill-Weave is putting the mountain lions in her basement and sends you to spy on her. Be watching Arvena's back yard shortly before 8pm, do not let Quill-Weave see you and she will drop a piece of meat. The quest will update and you can either confront Quill-Weave or talk to Arvena Thelas. Go along with Quill-Weave and tell her about the mountain lions and she will give you free training in Acrobatics. Tell Arvena the truth and she will give a leveled amount of gold and free Speechcraft training. Return to the Fighters Guild and speak with Azzan to get your reward.
