The Wii Virtual Console version uses Classic Controller/Pro and Gamecube Controller which is essetially the same as the SNES controller. There should be no difficulty in working out the button layout. If you don't like the button layout, there's an option to change the buttons, preferably if you're using the Gamecube Controller.
