It has new and old units but some old units like Orca Gunships are upgraded with sonic grenades.
Kane's Wrath is set to feature a "Risk-like" gameplay called "global conquest mode", where players can move their armies around the world map and then strategically engage each other in battles which are fought through traditional Command & Conquer RTS gameplay. In addition, it will only contain a Nod campaign which will be 13 missions long, spanning from the end of Tiberian Sun: Firestorm to Command & Conquer 3 and beyond. This gameplay mode will replace the traditionally linear single player campaigns of the previous Command & Conquer games, allowing for the players to freely choose the order of the missions. Armies will persist in this global conquest mode, causing units that survived the traditional RTS-style battles to be carried over to the world map and remain available for future missions, similar to the Battle for Middle-Earth series' "War of the Ring", or Star Wars: Empire At War's Galactic Conquest And Rise of Nations conquer the world.

New units in Kane's Wrath:
Each of the three factions featured in Command & Conquer 3: Tiberium Wars (Global Defense Initiative, Brotherhood of Nod and Scrin) will receive two additional "sub-factions" in Kane's Wrath; a gameplay concept previously used in the titles Command & Conquer: Red Alert, Command & Conquer: Red Alert 2 and Command & Conquer: Generals. Each of these sub-factions features unique special units, upgrades and support powers, and are designed to cater to more specialized styles of real-time strategy gameplay. This sub-faction system will bring the total number of playable sides in Command & Conquer 3 from three to nine.

Command & Conquer 3: Kane's Wrath is an expansion pack developed by Electronic Arts Los Angeles for the real-time strategy video game Command & Conquer 3: Tiberium Wars. It was released in the spring of 2008 for the Windows and Xbox 360 platforms.

Kane's Wrath is a prequel. Therefore the game takes place before the Third Tiberium War. Also in this game the Commanders get new toys like Redeemer Walkers to use it to step on stuff like Mammoth Tanks.
