DBZ Budokai, Budokai 2, and Budokai 3 Movesets

I was going to add the movesets for all the characters in Dragon Ball Z: Budokai 1, 2, and 3, but I've run into a snag. I don't know which of the various move list templates posted here to use for the games and I don't want to pick the wrong one. Since the games are not arcade games, would I use a different template or would I use one that IS used in an arcade moveset page, say like the one shown in the pages for Street Fighter II and Street Fighter Alpha? -- JeffMandM (talk) 15:24, 9 December 2015 (UTC)

The moves set issue is a little up for debate. I personally don't mind having a couple of different templates to choose from as long as the template chosen is consistent throughout a single game and, ideally, throughout a series. Other admins wish we would choose just one and stick with it. Since the matter hasn't been decided, you're essentially free to choose. You can either take one of the existing templates, or pioneer your own if you feel the Budokai games warrant a different approach. Let us know if you need any help. Alright, then for the time being I'll see if I can't come up with a template for the Budokai games that could possibly be shared between them. What I'm most likely going to do is set up a template that will be able to switch button images for attacks depending on the console a person selects (I don't remember what you guys call that or if it's already been done) since the buttons for some attacks were swapped from their PS2 positions in the case of GCN Budokai 1 and 2. I'll post something on the forums regarding this and go from there. But for now I suppose I'll use the arcade setup. Are the buttons used in the arcade setup linked to the template at all or is it just like normal, where the images are just inserted in with the chart? Also, it looks like I can't currently register for the forums. From what I can see, it might be disabled. -- JeffMandM (talk) 16:18, 9 December 2015 (UTC)
We have a (regretably clunky) {{Control selector}} template that probably does what you're trying to accomplish. You can see an example of how it works on the Chrono_Trigger/The_Millennial_Fair page. The arcade buttons are used in the same fashion as the other system buttons, there is a {{cade}} template just like there is a {{psx}} and {{gc}} template for PlayStation and GameCube buttons respectively. And yeah, the forums were disabled due to lack of use :( Our community has shrunk a bit since SW began. That's something I'd like to see reverse, but no one works on SW as a full-time job, it's just a hobby for most of us. Procyon 16:27, 9 December 2015 (UTC)
I probably could see if I could try to improve the current control selector or do a rehash of it as well for that purpose. However, that depends on whether or not I get the time to learn how to use the design language this site uses. I assume it's a variant on CSS? -- JeffMandM (talk) 17:06, 9 December 2015 (UTC)
