Wii U VC allows you to customize controls outside of dpad. Be sure to map the minus button on VC menu and right stick as C buttons.

There are two modes of moving, walking and running. The more the control stick tilts away from the center, the more Mario moves faster. In 3D All Stars, you can also use Neutral dpad to run.

After jumping, press the button again when landing on the floor for a double jump and press a third time for a triple jump. Press when facing a wall to wall jump. With the Wing Cap, this action will launch Mario into the air and he will start flying.

If the button is pressed in mid air, Mario will perform a ground pound. If the analog stick is tilted in a direction, Mario will start crawling.
