One of the best monsters to hunt for higher level hermits and archers due to that there's practically a sniping spot for almost every platform on the map. Weak to thunder, strong against fire, and attacks with a cannon ball which is avoidable in the same manner as a pixie's projectile. Spawn in the last map on the left side of Ludibrium's Clock Tower.

This squid has a smokescreen attack which resembles a Fire Mage's poison mist, that causes any players that are in its radius to lose 150 HP per 5 seconds. Its special attack only does around 100 damage though, although its physical touch damage is over 1400. Commonly referred to as Sotong in MapleSEA. Only found on the eastern side of Aquarium, in the two dungeon maps.

  • EXP: 2,600
These giant ships are among the most feared in Ludibrium. With a cannon magic attack and a large touch damage radius, they can be quite dangerous. Spawn in a map on the left side of the Clock Tower. Not often hunted due to the fact that Spirit Vikings drop Ilbi stars.

  • HP: 60,000
  • MP: 220

This much uglier beast is immune to Ice Magic, so Ice Mages may need to watch out when fighting these guys. It has the exact same HP as a regular phantom watch, but is worth 500 more exp, so it is hunted more often. It has a different magic attack, where icicles rise out of the floor for high damage. This monster is also one of two monsters that drop the book Bishops require to get their Resurrection Skill quest. Located in a Hidden Street off the regular phantom watch map.

MS Monster Crimson Balrog.png

Boss

  • Level: 100
  • HP: 100,000
  • MP: 500
  • PDR: 40%
  • MDR: 5,000%
  • EXP: 3,500
A monster best known for its attacks against the ships that run between Orbis and Ellinia. Despite its power, it is not invincible, especially against holy magic. However, the number of people capable of defeating one of these is slim, much less in the pairs that Crimson Balrogs travel in. It has the rare ability to pierce through Dark Sight. There is a 50% chance that the coast is clear during the ship ride, a 35% chance that only the ship will appear, and a 15% chance of the Crimson Balrogs actually attacking. When Crimson Balrogs appear on the ship, the music outside changes, so many people like to stand at the bottom mast and listen for the music to change. In versions with 4th job Advancement. Weaker versions of this balrog are assigned on a plot to capture Tylus in a Henesys PQ style map.
