Citizen[edit]

All three beginner skills can be maxed, but an ideal order would be:

  • Level 2: +1 Crystal Throw (1)
  • Level 3: +1 Crystal Throw (2)
  • Level 4: +1 Crystal Throw (3)
  • Level 5: +1 Efficiency (1)
  • Level 6: +1 Efficiency (2)
  • Level 7: +1 Efficiency (3)
  • Level 8: +1 Sneak (1)
  • Level 9: +1 Sneak (2)
  • Level 10: +1 Sneak (3)

Battle Mage[edit]

AP Build[edit]

It is best to add all your points into INT. Luckily, the Auto-Assign can do that. At late 19x, when you have 999 INT, you can choose to add the rest of your AP into LUK (slightly higher damage) or HP.

First Job[edit]

Since you'll be able to max all skills in first job, it doesn't really matter which path you take. This is a build guide not training, but some explanation is warranted so you can better decide to follow or deviate from it. Most people will complete Edelstein beginner quests and train there to level 30 to receive the Special Training Intermediate medal before moving on to Mushroom Kingdom where you can get the Mushroom Kingdom Guardian medal that has +2 all stats. BaM (Battle Mage) attack with a Staff. Do not buy a wand. The weapon speed is a factor so look for a normal or fast staff. With the Craft skill (Smith), you could make yourself an Evil Wings.

Regular Build
  • Level 10: +4 Triple Blow (4), +1 Teleport (1)
  • Level 11: +3 Triple Blow (7)
  • Level 12: +3 Triple Blow (10)
  • Level 13: +3 Triple Blow (13)
  • Level 14: +3 Triple Blow (16)
  • Level 15: +3 Triple Blow (19)
  • Level 16: +1 Triple Blow (20), +2 Dark Aura (2)
  • Level 17: +3 Finish Attack (3)
  • Level 18: +3 Finish Attack (6)
  • Level 19: +3 Finish Attack (9)
  • Level 20: +1 Finish Attack (10), +2 Teleport (3)

  • Level 22: +3 Teleport (9)
  • Level 23: +3 Teleport (12)
  • Level 24: +3 Teleport (15)
  • Level 25: +3 Dark Aura (5)
  • Level 26: +3 Dark Aura (8)
  • Level 27: +3 Dark Aura (11)
  • Level 28: +3 Dark Aura (14)
  • Level 29: +3 Dark Aura (17)
  • Level 30: +3 Dark Aura (20)
End Result
  • Triple Blow: Level 20
  • Finish Attack: Level 10
  • Teleport: Level 15
  • Dark Aura: Level 20

Veteran players, start with 1 Teleport for mobility, then Triple Blow for attack power. Follow up with Finish Blow for an additional attack. This is a combo attack similar to Aran skills, and it gets better with each job advancement. Next raise Teleport until maxed, than finally max Dark Aura. Dark Aura really doesn't speed training at this level because it's a percent, and your attack is not very high yet.

  • Third Job Teleport Mastery requires Level 15 Teleport
Alternate Build
  • Level 10: +4 Triple Blow (4), +1 Finish Attack (1)
  • Level 11: +3 Triple Blow (7)
  • Level 12: +3 Triple Blow (10)
  • Level 13: +3 Triple Blow (13)
  • Level 14: +3 Triple Blow (16)
  • Level 15: +3 Triple Blow (19)
  • Level 16: +1 Triple Blow (20), +2 Dark Aura (2)

  • Level 18: +3 Dark Aura (8)
  • Level 19: +3 Dark Aura (11)
  • Level 20: +3 Dark Aura (14)
  • Level 21: +3 Dark Aura (17)
  • Level 22: +3 Dark Aura (20)
  • Level 23: +2 Finish Attack (3), +1 Teleport (1)
  • Level 24: +3 Finish Attack (6)
  • Level 25: +3 Finish Attack (9)
  • Level 26: +1 Finish Attack (10), +2 Teleport (3)
  • Level 27: +3 Teleport (6)
  • Level 28: +3 Teleport (9)
  • Level 29: +3 Teleport (12)
  • Level 30: +3 Teleport (15)
End Result
  • Triple Blow: Level 20
  • Dark Aura: Level 20
  • Finish Attack: Level 10
  • Teleport: Level 15

Beginning players don't have Blessing of the Fairy from another character, so they may desire Dark Aura and Finishing Attack earlier.

Second Job[edit]

This is a build guide not training, but some explanation is warranted so you can better decide to follow or deviate from it. Most people will answer the call and get moved to Mushroom Kingdom where you can get the Mushroom Kingdom Guardian medal that has +2 all stats. If you choose to move on to Kerning Square around level 40 and receive Piercing of the Free Spirit earring that has +1 all stats, Hyper Dark Chain works well on CDs. Don't get to fond of Hyper Dark Chain training though, as it is not an efficient training method after Yellow Aura is maxed and you are attacking higher level mobs.

  • Make sure you do all required Job Quests, or you will be short 7 SP
Regular Build
  • Level 30: +7 Staff Mastery (7), +1 Quad Blow (1), +1 Hyper Dark Chain (1), +1 Yellow Aura (1)
  • Level 31: +3 Staff Mastery (10)

  • Level 69: +1 Staff Boost (19), +2 Blood Drain (18)
  • Level 70: +1 Staff Boost (20), +2 Blood Drain (20)
End Result
  • Staff Mastery: Level 20
  • High Wisdom: Level 10
  • Hyper Dark Chain: Level 20
  • Quad Blow: Level 20
  • Yellow Aura: Level 20
  • Blood Drain: Level 20
  • Staff Boost: Level 20

First, apply 1 point on to Quad Blow & 1 point on Dark Chain for attack, and 1 point on yellow aura for speed. Next, max staff mastery and High Wisdom for stability and higher minimum damage, followed by Hyper Dark Chain & Quad Blow. Dark chain may become your primary range attack at this level, depending on where you train. At higher levels, Dark Chain will stun and pull mobs toward you, and Quad becomes a finisher. (Note: Finish Attack is stronger now and even more useful.) After Quad Blow is done, raise Yellow Aura for speed, than Staff Boost for attack speed and Blood Drain for free HP.

  • Third Job Quintuple Blow requires Level 20 Quad Blow
  • Fourth Job Advanced Yellow Aura requires Level 20 Yellow Aura

If you have not completed the Resistance Alliance Quests yet, you will be short 7 SP. Leave Staff Boost at 17 for 105 seconds, and leave Blood Drain at 16 for 108 seconds until you complete this quest line.

  • Quad Blow: Level 20
  • Blood Drain: Level 20
  • Staff Boost: Level 20
  • Yellow Aura: Level 20
  • Hyper Dark Chain: Level 20

First off, apply 1 point on to Quad Blow for damage purposes, 1 point onto Dark Chain for a 100% stun attack, and 1 point onto yellow aura for a speed boost. After max staff mastery to close the margin of minimum damage to maximum damage, followed up by High Wisdom and Quad Blow for damage. After Quad Blow is done raise Staff Booster and Blood Drain. Next, Yellow Aura for speed, and than finish maxing Dark Chain for additional stun duration and damage.

Third Job[edit]

There are several skills that are really good with only one SP, so start there! This is a build guide not training, but some explanation is warranted so you can better decide to follow or deviate from it. The Regular Build is aimed at the fastest solo training at premium locations. With one point on Quintuple Blow, Finish Attack (a First Job skill) is stronger and has more range now. Using Yellow Aura and Staff Boost, Quintuple Blow is incredibly fast.

Regular Build
  • Level 70: +1 Quintuple Blow (1), +1 Dark Shock (1), +1 Teleport Mastery (1)
  • Level 71: +1 Battle Mastery (1), +1 Blue Aura (1), +1 Body Boost (1)

  • Conversion: Level 10
  • Blue Aura: Level 20
  • Advanced Blue Aura: Level 10 (or 3)
  • Summon Reaper Buff: Level 13 (or 20)

First, apply 1 point on to Quintuple Blow and Teleport Mastery for a nice upgrade, then 1 point on Dark Shock. Even with the cooldown, it's a new skill with nice power. Blue Aura and Body Boost also work nice with only 1 point. Next max Battle Mastery for stability and higher minimum damage, followed by Quintuple Blow as this is still your primary attack. Next, comes Stance which is self explanatory followed by Teleport Mastery. This gives more distance and does a stun attack at the same time which speeds training. Dark Shock is a strong attack that comes in handy, but it follows the primary attacks because of its cooldown. Body Boost will increase the effects of your active auras. The order of these two could be swapped. 1 point on Summon Reaper Buff. It's pretty lame with only 1 point, but be honest, you know you are dying to try it! Next, max Conversion. It's costly with only 1 point, so max it right away. Conversion is almost like a Spearman's Hyper Body for your BaM without the need to find one to party with. Blue Aura is next to boost your HP and defense, followed by Advanced Blue Aura. It will improve your Blue Aura if you use it, but passively increase your abnormal status and elemental resistance even if you don't. It's passive status make it worth maxing, but will be fine at 3. Summon Reaper Buff may look and sound cool, but it does not speed training and does not need to be maxed. Max Advanced Blue Aura or Summon Reaper Buff.

Fourth Job[edit]

When you reach Level 120, go to Edelstein and talk to the job instructor to get the job advancement quest. Go to Gelimer Research Lab: Second Square and talk to Gelimer. Make sure you have 5,000,000 meso and several pots. Yes, the job advancement will cost you 5 million. Some All Cures would be helpful too. Go to Gelimer Research Lab: Security System Research Center 3. Go in the hole in the wall on the top left. Go in the portal on the right. Go right and fall down. Talk to the NPC, and pay him. Go in the portal to the left and get ready to fight. Here you will need patience. Lots of patience. Kill the machine. The poison, stun, and summons are annoying, but you really only need to watch out for Damage Reflection. If you attack the machine while it has a purple sword symbol on top, you will kill yourself. Don't worry, you don't have to pay again. Just go back in and try again. There should be plenty of time. Stay right and kill the robots to get reaper to come out. If reaper attacks the machine and damage is only 1, you know Damage Reflect is on. Reaper damage won't hurt you unless you attack. When Reaper actually hits it with normal damage or you see the symbol is gone, hit it with Dark Shock, than Quintuple Blow a couple times, then wait for Damage Reflect again. Wait for it, then attack again. Patience! Talk to the NPC again and he will send you back to the training instructor to finish your advancement and get your medal and skills.

A level by level build is not realistic as there is no way to predict when you will find, or be able to buy, the required mastery books, but here are some tips to get you started.

Regular Build
  • Level 120: +1 Finishing Blow (1), +1 Twister Spin (1), +1 Dark Genesis (1)
  • Level 121: +1 Advanced Dark Aura (1), +1 Advanced Yellow Aura (1), +1 Energize (1)
  • Level 122: +3 Advanced Dark Aura (4)
  • Level 123: +3 Advanced Dark Aura (7)
  • Level 124: +3 Advanced Dark Aura (10)

Max Advanced Dark Aura, followed by Advanced Yellow Aura, then max Finishing Blow for more attack, depending on what books you have/can get.

End Result (This shows max all as it has yet to be determined what to leave points off)
  • Advanced Dark Aura: Level 30
  • Advanced Yellow Aura: Level 30
  • Finishing Blow: Level 30
  • Energize: Level 30
  • Hero's Will: Level 5
  • Maple Warrior: Level 30
  • Twister Spin: Level 30
  • Dark Genesis: Level 30
  • Party Shield: Level 30
