MapleStory/Resurrection of the Hoblin King

Availability: All versions Requirements: Level 150+ (Recommended level: 150-250) (No AFKers)

• Resurrection of the Hoblin King PQ is a party quest based on El Nath. Shammos has a premonition that Rex, an evil hunter from El Nath will be released from his seal and bring terror onto El Nath, and asks that you escort him there to ensure the safety of the sea. A party of 2 or more is needed, and can enter as long as they are all over the level of 150. Shammos is located in Spiegelmann's Guest House, and lets you inside the PQ. Note: the quests involving Rex are completely optional, and are NOT in any way mandatory.

Pre-PQ

When you talk to Shammos at the PQ lobby to start, he will send you to the Ice Ravine Entrance. Have your party leader talk to Shammos to start the PQ. The portal on the top right leads to a jump quest to obtain a HP potion for Shammos. Note, if someone leaves the party, Shammos will reject your party from entering the PQ, and you will have to exit and possibly reform the party.

Stage 1

This stage is easy, just eliminate all the Hoblins. Area of Effect skills work wonders in this stage, as well as high jumping/teleport skills. Once finished, have the leader talk to Shammos to advance.

Stage 2 and 3

Escort Shammos across Ice Ravine 1 and 2 and protect him from Hoblins in the process. If you walk too far away from Shammos, he will call you back and within 30 seconds you MUST go back to him or you will fail the PQ.

Stage 4

Once you enter the Ancient Ice Cave, Shammos will betray you and break the seal, freeing Rex. You must defeat Rex to complete the PQ. Rex possesses skills including a dash attack, an attack where he leaps in the air and throws something at you, an AoE super knockback where the Hyena roars, and a skill where he drops icicles on you. He can also create a Poison Cloud, blind the screen so that you only see a small radius, Zombify, and summon 2 Combat Hoblins and 2 Ferocious Hoblins to aid him when at 30% HP or lower. When defeated, he will drop mesos, Mana Elixirs, a Hobb Warrior Mark, and possibly an earring which comes in 3 colors: Red (adds 3 STR and DEX), Blue (adds 3 DEX and LUK, and Green (adds 3 INT and LUK). These can be upgraded with 40 Hobb Warrior Marks and the respective earring via Shammos. Rex also drops his Hyena's Saddle and the Hyena itself, the latter being extremely rare. It can also be obtained with 100 Hobb Warrior Marks via Shammos.

EXP Reward

If you are level 150, you get 2,871,714 EXP. This amount increases by 2.5% per level. Round off each time it is formulated. At level 249, you will receive 21,751,944 EXP.
