Sandgem Town is the second town you find on your journey. It is home to Professor Rowan, Dawn/Lucas, and Dawn's/Lucas's younger sister. Also found here are two things a beginning trainer will find essential; a Pokémon Center and a Pokémart. Dawn/Lucas will show you around the town on your first visit, telling you to heal at the Pokémon Center free of charge, and to stock up on items at the Pokémart, though you won't be able to buy much with your meager 
3,000.
Things To Do

Moving On
If you try to leave Sandgem Town immediately, Dawn/Lucas will stop you in a grassy patch just outside of Sandgem Town, and demand you say goodbye to your mom before you leave on your journey. Do so, then come back to the same spot. Dawn/Lucas will give you a Pokémon catching tutorial and 5 Poké Balls; then you can go on your way.
