It plays simlarly to other games from the series (LEGO Star Wars and LEGO Batman) with only minor gameplay modifications. The game covers all three original Indiana Jones movies relatively closely to their respective story lines with only a few modifications. Among other things the "Red Brick" system present in the other 2 games of the series was replaced with a postage system where the player has to fetch a parcel from around the stage and post it in that stage's letter box in order to unlock extras.
